UBTD2 is an ubiquitin (Ub) domain-containing protein, originally recognized in dendritic cells, that takes part in ubiquitination pathway. Ubiquitin is the best understood post-translation modifier; however, there is a growing family of ubiquitin-like proteins (UBLs) who change cellular targets in a pathway. UbL proteins take part in a variation of cellular courses, like DNA repair, protein sorting, protein degradation, cell division, apoptosis and autophagy.

Upon entry of the target cell, the viral RNA genomeis converted to double-stranded DNAby a virally encoded reverse transcriptasethat is present in the virus particle. This viral DNA is then integrated into the cellular DNA by a virally encoded integraseso that the genome can be transcribed. Once the virus has infected the cell, two pathways are possible: either the virus becomes latentand the infected cell continues to function, or the virus becomes active and replicates, and a large number of virus particles are liberated that can then infect other cells.

MBL2 is a secreted glycoprotein which recognizes mannose and N-acetylglucosamine on various microorganisms, and is capable of activating the classical complement pathway. BCDIN3D mediates the methylation of pre-miR-145, as well as other pre-miRNAs.

T cell immunoreceptor with Ig and ITIM domains or TIGIT, is an immune receptor located on part of T cells and Natural Killer Cells(NK). TIGIT is also known as Vstm3 and WUCAM. CFD is an important component of the alternative pathway of complement activation. CFD cleaves and activates factor B when it binds C3b or a C3b-like protein such as C3 or CVF.
