    • Introduction

      Lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) is an enzyme(EC1.1.1.27) present in a wide variety of organisms, including plants and animals.
      A tetrameric enzyme that catalyses the interconversion of pyruvateand lactate with concomitant interconversion of NADH and NAD+. At high concentrations of pyruvate, the enzyme exhibits feedback inhibition and the rate of conversion of pyruvate to lactate is decreased. In vertebrates, genes for three different subunits (LDH-A, LDH-B and LDH-C) exist.

      Lyophilized Lactate Dehydrogenase although stable at room temperature for 3 weeks, should be stored desiccated below -18°C. Upon reconstitution LDH should be stored at 4°C between 2-7 days and for future use below -18°C.Please prevent freeze-thaw cycles.

      It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized LDH in sterile 18MΩ-cm H2O not less than 100 µg/ml, which can then be further diluted to other aqueous solutions.

      DUSPs are distinguished by their ability to dephosphorylate both tyrosine and serine/threonine residues. DUSPs have been implicated as major modulators of critical signaling pathways. Dual specificity phosphatase 19 (DUSP19) belongs to the dual specificity protein phosphatase subfamily. DUSP19 is a protein phosphatase which functions as a stress-activated protein kinase pathway-regulating phosphatase. DUSP19 contains a variation of the consensus DUSP C-terminal catalytic domain, with the last serine residue replaced by alanine, and lacks the N-terminal CH2 domain found in the MKP class of DUSPs.

      UGDH is part of the UDP-glucose/GDP-mannose dehydrogenase family and is a widely expressed enzyme localized in the liver. UGDH transfers UDP-glucose to UDP-glucuronate and thus takes part in the biosynthesis of glycosaminoglycans such as hyaluronan, chondroitin sulfate, and heparan sulfate. These glycosylated products are ordinary molecules of the extracellular matrix and participate in signal transduction, cell migration, and cancer growth and metastasis.

      DNA polymerase POLL is involved in base excision repair (BER). POLL is a low-fidelity polymerase that takes part in both spontaneous and DNA damage-induced mutagenesis. Furthermore, POLL takes part in the mutagenic bypass of T-T dimers. AASDHPPT catalyzes the post-translational modification of target proteins by phosphopantetheine and can transfer the 4'-phosphopantetheine moiety from coenzyme A to a serine residue of a broad range of acceptors, such as the acyl carrier domain of FASN (in vitro). AASDHPPT is similar to Saccharomyces cerevisiae LYS5, which is required for the activation of the alpha-aminoadipate dehydrogenase in the biosynthetic pathway of lysine. AASDHPPT is found in the heart, skeletal muscle, placenta, testis, brain, pancreas, liver and kidney. It’s been suggested that defects in the human AASDHPPT gene result in pipecolic acidemia.

      NQO1 belongs to the NAD(P)H dehydrogenase (quinone) family and encodes a cytoplasmic 2-electron reductase. NQO1 acts as an imperative part of cellular antioxidant defense by detoxifying quinines therefore preventing the formation of reactive oxygen species. It seems that NQO1 serves as a quinone reductase relating to conjugation reactions of hydroquinons involved in detoxification pathways in addition to biosynthetic processes such as the vitamin K-dependent gamma-carboxylation of glutamate residues in prothrombin synthesis. Altered NQO1 expression is seen in many tumors and also linked to Alzheimer’s disease. NQO1 gene mutations are linked to tardive dyskinesia which is an increased risk of hematotoxicity after exposure to benzene, and susceptibility to various forms of cancer.
