STX12 is a member of the syntaxin family which are cellular receptors for transport of vesicles that take part in exocytosis in neutrophils. STX12 regulates protein transport from late endosomes and the trans-Golgi network and back. Additionally, STX12 cooperates with ABC1 (ATP-binding cassette transporter A1), which enables cellular release of cholesterol and choline-phospholipids to apoA-I (apolipoprotein A-I).

Tyrosyl-tRNA synthetase (YARS2) is a mitochondrial protein which catalyzes the attachment of tyrosine to tRNA(Tyr) in a two-step reaction: tyrosine is first activated by ATP to form Tyr-AMP and afterward transferred to the acceptor end of tRNA(Tyr). YARS2 gene mutations are linked with myopathy with lactic acidosis and sideroblastic anemia type 2 (MLASA2).

YOD1 is a Hydrolase which removes conjugated ubiquitin from proteins and takes part in endoplasmic reticulum-associated degradation (ERAD) for misfolded lumenal proteins. YOD1 is a highly conserved deubiquitinating enzyme belonging to the ovarian tumor (otubain) family, whose function has yet to be determined in mammalian cells. YOD1 is a component of a multiprotein complex with p97 as its nucleus, proposing a functional link to a pathway responsible for the dislocation of misfolded proteins from the endoplasmic reticulum. The 14-3-3 family of proteins plays a key regulatory role in signal transduction, checkpoint control, apoptotic and nutrient-sensing pathways. 14-3-3 proteins are highly conserved and ubiquitously expressed. There are at least seven isoforms, β, γ, ε, σ, ζ, τ and η that have been identified in mammals. The 14-3-3 epsilon, a subtype of the 14-3-3 family of proteins, was thought to be brain and neuron-specific. It has been shown to interact with CDC25 phosphatases, RAF1 and IRS1 proteins, suggesting its role in diverse biochemical activities related to signal transduction, such as cell division and regulation of insulin sensitivity. Treponema pallidum is a gram-negative spirochaete bacterium and is considered to be metabolically crippled. Methionine sulfoxide reductase B (MsrB) from Escherichia coli is a member of the msrB Met sulfoxide reductase family. The E.coli msrB carries out the reduction of methionine-R-sulfoxide to methionine. msrB possess a metal binding site composed of 2 CXXC motifs. The bound metal (zinc or iron) may stabilize the conformation of the enzymes.

Homeodomain-only protein (HOPX) functions via its interaction with SRF, thus modulating the expression of SRF-dependent cardiac-specific genes and cardiac development. HOPX inhibits SRF-dependent transcription either by hindering SRF binding to DNA or by engaging histone deacetylase (HDAC) proteins which prevent transcription by SRF. HOPX is a homeodomain protein which lacks certain conserved residues required for DNA binding. HOPX overexpression causes cardiac hypertrophy.

Tetrahydrobiopterin, is a necessary cofactor and regulator of a range of enzyme activities, including enzymes involved in serotonin biosynthesis and NO synthase activity. Mutations in 6-PyruvoylTetrahydropterin Synthase gene result in hyperphenylalaninemia.

Putative peptidyl-tRNA hydrolase PTRHD1 (PTRHD1) is a 140 amino acid protein, which is encoded by a gene located on human chromosome 2p23.3. Chromosome 2 is the second largest human chromosome; it consists of 237 million bases, encodes over 1,400 genes and makes up approximately 8% of the human genome. Several genetic diseases are linked to genes on chromosome 2.

DHODH gene defects cause the postaxial acrofacial dysostosis (POADS), also known as Miller syndrome.

Eotaxin-2, also called MPIF2 & Ckb6, is a novel CC chemokine produced by activated monocytes and T lymphocytes. Eotaxin-2 selectively chemoattracts cells expressing CCR3 including eosinophils, basophils, Th2 T cells, mast cells, and certain subsets of dendritic cells. Furthermore, Eotaxin-2 inhibits the proliferation of multipotential hematopoietic progenitor cells. ANXA5 is a phospholipase A2 and protein kinase C inhibitory protein with calcium channel properties and takes part in cellular signal transduction, inflammation, growth and differentiation. ANXA5 is an anticoagulant protein that acts as an indirect inhibitor of the thromboplastin-specific complex, which is involved in the blood coagulation cascade. ANXA5 regulates coagulability in the blood stream by binding to phosphatidylserine and sulfatide. ANXA5 protects sinsuoidal endothelial cells from ischemia reperfusion damage. ANXA5 is necessary for normal CFTR chloride channel activity.

Syntaxin is membrane integrated Q-SNARE protein participating in exocytosis. Syntaxin is composed of an N-terminal regulatory domain (Habc), a SNARE domain (known as H3), and a single C-terminal transmembrane domain. The SNARE (H3) domain binds to both synaptobrevin and SNAP-25 forming the core SNARE complex. Synaptic vesicles store neurotransmitters that are released during calcium-regulated exocytosis. The specificity of neurotransmitter release requires the localization of both synaptic vesicles and calcium channels to the presynaptic active zone. Syntaxins function in this vesicle fusion process. Syntaxins also serve as a substrate for botulinum neurotoxin type C, a metalloprotease that blocks exocytosis and has high affinity for a molecular complex that includes the alpha-latrotoxin receptor which produces exocytosis.

STX6 is a member of the syntaxin family and has 1 t-SNARE coiled-coil homology domain. STX6 takes part in intracellular vesicle transferring. STX6 binds EEA1 and Interacts with VPS45A, MARCH2, MARCH3 and GOPC. It is found in a complex comprising STX6, STX12, VAMP4 and VTI1A.
