Human PDE6D was initially identified as a fourth subunit of rod-specific cGMP phosphodiesterase, PDE6. PDE6D is an Oligomer composed of two catalytic chains (alpha and beta), an inhibitory chain (gamma) and the delta chain. PDE6D interacts with RPGR, ARL2 and ARL3. The catalytically active PDE6 is a heterodimer (αβ) that is controlled by two inhibitory γ subunits. Since PDE6D does not change the catalytic properties of PDEαβ, its function is still unanswered. SAT-1 is a member the acetyltransferase family, and is a rate-limiting enzyme in the catabolic pathway of polyamine metabolism. Defects in the SAT1 gene are linked to KFSD (keratosis follicularis spinulosa decalvans), which is a rare X-linked disorder affecting the skin and the eye. Syntaxin is membrane integrated Q-SNARE protein participating in exocytosis. Calretinin is an intracellular calcium-binding protein belonging to the troponin C superfamily characterized by a structural motif described as the EF-hand domain. The immunohistochemical detection of calretinin in developing cerebellum is restricted to the later stages indicated by weak staining from week 21 of gestation, in Purkinje and basket cells and in neurons of the dentate nucleus. The intensity of staining increases as the cerebellum matures. In tumors, calretinin has been detected in mesotheliomas and some pulmonary adenocarcinomas.

SDCBP is a multifunctional intracellular adapter protein. SDCBP protein has tandemly repeated PDZ domains which react with the FYA (phe-tyr-ala) carboxyterminal amino acid sequence of the syndecans. SDCBP is has a role in organization of protein complexes in the plasma membranes, regulation of B-cell development, activation of transcription factors, intracellular trafficking and cell-surface targeting, synaptic transmission, and axonal outgrowth.
