RhoA is a member of the small GTPase superfamily, Rho family, whose members are involved in the regulation and timing of cell division. Solute Carrier Family 51 Beta (SLC51B), is a protein coding gene. SLC51B is an organic solute transporter subunit. SLC51 is composed of twodifferent proteins that must heterodimerize to generate transport activity, however the role of the individual subunits inmediating transport activity is unknown. The results show that SLC51B is required for both proper traffickingof SLC51A and formation of the functional transport unit, and identify specific residues of SLC51B essential for theseprocesses. Among the diseases associated with SLC51B are extrahepatic cholestasis, and biliary atresia.

BAALC gene is found in patients with acute myeloid leukemia and is conserved among mammals and is not found in lower organisms. Tissues which express BAALC develop from the neuroectoderm. Lysosomal-Associated Membrane Protein 1 (LAMP1) is a part of the LAMP family. LAMP1 is a membrane protein which is expressed in the endosome-lysosome membranes of cells and is implicated in tumor cell metastasis. A glycoform of LAMP1 is expressed on the surface of activated macrophages and promotes T cell costimulation and a Th1 biased immune response. LAMP1 is also found on the plasma membrane during the activation of NK cells, CD8 & T cells, monocytes, basophils, and platelets.

Otoraplin is a secreted 16 kDa globular protein that is expressed in the inner ear by periotic mesenchyme and developing and mature fibrocytes. OTOR is highly homologous to MIA/cartilage-derived retinoic acid-sensitive protein (CD-RAP), which is a cartilage-specific protein that is also expressed in malignant melanoma cells. The 111 amino acid mature human otoraplin contains 1 SH3 domain (46 – 107 amino acids) and a Tyr at position 50 that is reportedly sulfated. Otoraplin takes pasrt in the initiation of periotic mesenchyme chondrogenesis.
Otoraplin is secreted through the Golgi apparatus and plays a role in cartilage development and maintenance. A frequent polymorphism in the translation start codon of OTOR can abolish translation and may be associated with forms of deafness.

40S ribosomal protein S13 (RPS13), is a member of the ribosomal protein S15P family.
