FABP12 is a member of the calycin superfamily and fatty-acid binding protein (FABP) family. The FABPs are a family of carrier proteins for fatty acids and other lipophilic substances for example eicosanoids and retinoids. These proteins are believed to enable the transfer of fatty acids between extra- and intracellular membranes. FABP12 has a role in lipid transport. FABP12 is expressed in several retinoblastoma cell lines. FABP12 has not been detected in fetal tissues.

Heterogeneous Nuclear Ribonucleoprotein A/B (HNRNPAB) is a member of the subfamily of ubiquitously expressed heterogeneous nuclearribonucleoproteins (hnRNPs). The hnRNPs are produced by RNA polymerase II and are components of theheterogeneous nuclear RNA (hnRNA) complexes. They are linked with pre-mRNAs in the nucleus and seem to influence pre-mRNA processing and further aspects of mRNA metabolism and transport. HNRNPAB, which binds to one of the components of the multiproteineditosome complex, has two repeats of quasi-RRM (RNA recognition motif) domains that bind to RNAs. Among the diseases associated with HNRNPAB are wells syndrome, and cystic fibrosis.

Ras-related protein Ral-A (RALA) is a member of the small GTPase superfamily, Ras family of proteins. RALA mediates a distinct downstream signaling pathway from Ras which facilitates cellular transformation. Furthermore, RALA is thought to be involved in various signaling cascades, including regulation of the cytoskeleton, vesicle trafficking, and endocytosis.

S100A6 is a member of the S100 family of proteins containing 2 EF-hand calcium-binding motifs. S100 proteins are localized either in the cytoplasm or the nucleus of a wide range of cells. Mannose-binding protein C (MBL2),belongs to the collectin family of patternrecognition molecules and is an important component in the innate immune system.
