PRDX1 is part of the peroxiredoxin family of antioxidant enzymes, which reduce hydrogen peroxide and alkyl hydroperoxides. PRDX1 is an important protector of red blood cells against reactive oxygen species and in tumor prevention.

Syndecan 2 (SDC2) is a conserved family of heparan- and chondroitin-sulfate carrying transmembrane protein. Syndecan 2 is a cell membrane proteoglycan which modulates the activity and dynamics of some growth factor receptors and integrins. SDC2 is expressed in HSCs (hepatic stellate cells), a key cell type involved in matrix deposition in liver fibrotic disorders. SDC2 is implicated in the formation of specialized membrane domains and serves as a direct link between the extracellular environment and the organization of the cortical cytoplasm.

SOS1, also known as Gingival Fibromatosis, is a Ras & Rac guanine nucleotide exchange factor. SOS1 is comprised of a number of significant domains. The REM and CDC25 domains provide the catalytic activity of SOS1 towards Ras and the histone fold DH/PH (Dbl homology & Pleckstrin homology) domains function, in tandem, to stimulate GTP/GDP exchange for Rac. Mannose-binding protein C (MBL2), belongs to the collectin family of patternrecognition molecules and is an important component in the innate immune system. MBL2 is a secreted glycoprotein which recognizes mannose and N-acetylglucosamine on various microorganisms, and is capable of activating the classical complement pathway. Lacking MBL2 has been associated with susceptibility to autoimmune and infectious diseases.

Decorin (DCN) is a small cellular or pericellular matrix proteoglycan which is closely related in structure to biglycan protein. Decorin is a secreted protein which binds to collagen and fibronectin in extracellular matrix. Decorin appears in different glycoforms, substituted with chondroitin sulfate or dermatan sulfate consistent with the original tissue. DCN contains one attached glycosaminoglycan chain. Decorin influences the rate of fibril formation. Decorin is capable of suppressing the growth of various tumor cell lines. DCN gene defects cause corneal dystrophy. The DCN gene is a candidate gene for Marfan syndrome.

Developmentally-regulated GTP-binding protein 1 (DRG1) is a member of the GTP1/OBG family. DRG1 has a role in cell proliferation and differentiation, as well as in apoptosis, proposing a role in tumor formation and metastasis. BST1 (Bone Marrow Stromal Cell Antigen 1), is a GPI (glycosylphosphatidylinositol) anchored membrane protein which is part of the CD38 family. BST1 was initially recognized as a bone marrow stromal cell molecule. BST1 is an ectoenzyme sharing more than a few features with ADP-ribosyl cyclase CD38. BST1 together with CD38, exhibit both DP-ribosyl cyclase and cyclinc ADP ribose hydrolase activities. BST1 participates in rheumatoid arthritis due to its enhanced expression in RA-derived bone marrow stromal cell lines. TP53-induced glycolysis and apoptosis regulator (TIGAR or C12ORF5), is a 270 amino acid protein induced by the p53 tumor suppressor pathway that functions to protect against oxidative stress. GADD45GIP1 is a nuclear protein which takes part in apoptosis control. Cadherin-2 isoform 1, also known as CDH2 is a transmembrane, homophilic glycoprotein which belongs to the calcium-dependent cell adhesion molecule family.
