TLR2 belongs to the Toll-like receptor (TLR) family that plays a fundamental role in pathogen recognition and activation of innate immunity. Intercellular Adhesion Molecule-5 or ICAM-5 is a glycoprotein, part of the immunoglobulin family and located in the cell membrane. We can find ICAM-5 in telencephalic neurons, in a couple of adhesion activity, firstly heterophilic binding amid neurons and leukocytes and secondly, homophilic binding amid neurons. ICAM-5 is expressed exclusively in telencephalic areas of the central nervous system. Similar to other ICAMs molecules, ICAM-5 adhere to LFA-1 which is a leukocyte integrin.

ATPase Transporting Beta 1 (ATP1B1) is a part of the family of Na+/K+ and H+/K+ ATPases beta chain proteins, and the subfamily of Na+/K+ -ATPases. Na+/K+ -ATPase is an essential membrane protein accountable for establishing and maintaining the electrochemical gradients of Na and K ions over the plasma membrane. These gradients are vital for osmoregulation, for sodium-coupled transport of a range of organic and inorganic molecules, and for electrical excitability of muscle and nerve. ATP1B1is combined of 2 subunits, a large catalytic subunit (alpha) and a smaller glycoprotein subunit (beta). The beta subunit regulates the number of sodium pumps transported to the plasma membrane through assembly of alpha/beta heterodimers. ATP1B1 is a beta 1 subunit.

The mature form of the protein is a ligand for the product of the RET (rearranged during transfection) protooncogene. In addition to the transcript encoding GDNF, two additional alternative transcripts encoding distinct proteins, referred to as astrocyte-derived trophic factors, have also been described. Mutations in this gene may be associated with Hirschsprung disease.

Synaptotagmin-1(SYT1) is a member of the synaptotagmin family, which contains two C2 domains. The synaptotagmins are integral membrane proteins of synaptic vesicles assumed to function as Ca(2+) sensors in the process of vesicular trafficking and exocytosis. SYT1 is the principal regulator responsible for allowing the human brain to release neurotransmitters. SYT1 may have a regulatory role in the membrane interactions during trafficking of synaptic vesicles at the active zone of the synapse. SYT1 binds acidic phospholipids with a specificity which entails the presence of both an acidic head group and a diacyl backbone. SYT1 can also bind to at least 3 additional proteins in a Ca2+-independent manner; these being neurexins, syntaxin and AP2.

Marginal zone B- and B1-cell-specific protein (MZB1) functions as a hormone-regulated adipokine/proinflammatory cytokine which is implicated in causing chronic inflammation and affecting cellular expansion.
