Homeobox C11 (HOXC11) is a member of the Abd-B homeobox family. SH3 domain-binding glutamic acid-rich-like protein 2 (SH3BGRL2) belongs to the human SH3BGR family. SH3BGRL2 is a protein of 107 amino acids, which, like SH3BGRL and SH3BGRL3 proteins, is highly homologous to the N-terminal region of the SH3BGR protein and seems to be related to Glutaredoxins and to PKC-interacting cousin of thioredoxin homology domain. SH3BGRL2 is highly expressed in the brain, placenta, liver and kidney and it is also expressed in the retina. The SH3BGRL2 gene is located to chromosome 6q13-15 and its messenger RNA has a large 3' untranslated region containing several AUUUA repeats.

SH3 domain-binding glutamic acid-rich-like protein 3 (SH3BGRL3) which is located on chromosome 1p34.3-35, encodes for a small 93 amino acids protein. SH3BGRL3 is the newest member of thioredoxin super family, whose posttranslational altered form was recognized as TNF-alpha inhibitory protein. SH3BGRL3 may act as a regulator in all-trans retinoic acid-induced pathway and also as a modulator of glutaredoxin biological activity.

RELM-beta (Resistin-Like Molecule-beta) is a member of a recently identified family of secreted proteins containing a conserved cystein-rich C-terminus. The physiological function of RELM-beta is not known. High doses of recombinant RELM-beta showed hyperglycemic effects including lowered glucose disposal and increased hepatic glucose production in mice.

Calretinin is an intracellular calcium-binding protein belonging to the troponin C superfamily characterized by a structural motif described as the EF-hand domain. The immunohistochemical detection of calretinin in developing cerebellum is restricted to the later stages indicated by weak staining from week 21 of gestation, in Purkinje and basket cells and in neurons of the dentate nucleus.
