Kruppel-Like Factor 7 (KLF7) is a part of the Kruppel-like transcriptional regulator family whose members regulate cell proliferation, differentiation and survival and contain 3 C2H2 zinc fingers at the C-terminus that mediate binding to GC-rich sites. KLF7 contributes to the progression of type 2 diabetes by inhibiting hormone expression and secretion in pancreatic beta-cells and also by deregulating adipocytokine secretion in adipocytes.

CD5 is a suitable immunohistochemical marker for T-cells, though not as sensitive as CD3. CD72 antigen is a member of the type II integral membrane glycoproteins which includes other related cell surface moleculaes such as the asialoglycoprotein receptors, CD23 and the Kupffer cell recpeotr. The exposure of B cells to CD72 antibodies activates a variety of signalling pathways and can induce MHC class II expression and B cell proliferation. CD72 antigen is expressed on all cells of B cell lineage with the exception of plasma cells and weakly on human tissue macrophages.
