Group IB secretory phospholipase A2 (sPLA2-IB) mediates cell proliferation, cell migration, hormone release and eicosanoid production via its receptor in peripheral tissues. In the CNS, high-affinity binding sites of sPLA2-IB have been documented. sPLA2-IB induced neuronal cell death in a concentrationdependent manner depending on PGD2 metabolites, especially Delta12-PGJ2 that might mediate sPLA2-IB-induced apoptosis. The secretory PLA2 (sPLA2) family, in which 10 isozymes have been identified, consists of lowmolecular weight, Ca2+-requiring secretory enzymes that have been implicated in a number of biological processes, such as modification of eicosanoid generation, inflammation, and host defense.

Frizzled-4, also known as FZD4 is a 7 ­transmembrane glycoprotein which belongs to the Frizzled family within the G-protein coupled receptor superfamily. FZD4 acts as a positive regulator of the Wingless type MMTV integration site signaling pathway. These pathways appear to include interactions with G-proteins. FZD4 is implicated in transduction as well as intercellular transmission of polarity information in the course of tissue morphogenesis and differentiated tissues.

KLRC3 belongs to the NKG2 group that can be found mostly in natural killer (NK) cells and encodes a family of transmembrane proteins known for their C-type lectin domain and their type II membrane orientation (extracellular C terminus). P450 Oxidoreductase, also known as POR is a flavoprotein which contributes electrons to all microsomal P450 enzymes. TSLP activated dendritic cells primes naive T cells to manufacture pro-allergic cytokines such as Iinterleukin-4, Interleukin-5, Interleukin-13 and TNF-alpha whereas down-regulating Interleukin-10 and IFN-gamma play a role in the initiation of allergic inflammation.

Glucagon is an important hormone involved in carbohydrate metabolism. The hormone is synthesized and secreted from alpha cells (a-cells) of the islets of Langerhans, which are located in the endocrine portion of the pancreas. Glucagon is released when the glucose level in the blood is low (hypoglycemia), causing the liver to convert stored glycogen into glucose and release it into the bloodstream. The action of glucagon is thus opposite to that of insulin, which instructs the body's cells to take in glucose from the blood in times of satiation.
Glucagon is beneficial for the culture of some cell types. It has been used in some biochemical regulation studies of glycogenolysis in hepatocytes. It has been also been found to induce DNA replication in primary cultures of adult rat hepatocytes when used in combinations with EGF and Insulin. Glucagon increases the blood glucose concentration by promoting rapid breakdown of liver glycogen, and also acts to relax smooth muscle such as the gastrointestinal tract.

The HAAO protein catalyzes the synthesis of quinolinic acid (QUIN) from 3-hydroxyanthranilic acid. QUIN is an excitotoxin whose toxicity is facilitated by its ability to activate glutamate N-methyl-D-aspartate receptors. Amplified cerebral levels of QUIN may contribute to the pathogenesis of neurologic and inflammatory disorders. HAAO is widely distributed in peripheral organs, such as liver and kidney, and is also present in low amounts in the central nervous system.

Glutraredoxins catalyze the reversible reduction of protein-glutathionyl mixed disulfides to free sulfhydryl groups though a monothiol mechanism. Glutaredoxin-3 (GRX3) is an important protein involved in the regulation of signal transduction, for example during immune cell activation and development of cardiac hypertrophy, apparently in response to redox signals. GRX3 interacts with PRKCQ. GRX3 may have a role in the regulation the function of the thioredoxin system. GRX3 is expressed in the heart, spleen, testis and, to a lower extent, in the thymus and peripheral blood leukocytes. GRX3 is weakly expressed in lung, placenta, colon and small intestine.

The recombinant Protein A/G/L is ideal for purification of monoclonal or polyclonal IgG antibodies. Protein A/G/L binds to IgG from humans, mice, rats, cows, goats, sheep, rabbits, guinea pigs, pigs, dogs and cats.

Atosiban is the first oxytocin antagonist to be specifically developed for the treatment of preterm labor. Atosiban has a specific mode of action, inhibiting oxytocin-induced uterine contractions by blocking oxytocin receptors in the uterus. Extensive clinical investigations have shown Atosiban to be at least as effective as current tocolytic agents. In addition, due to its novel and specific mode of action, Atosiban has a markedly improved maternal side effects profile compared with conventional therapies.

Adenylosuccinate lyase (ADSL) is an enzyme which converts adenylosuccinate to AMP and fumarate as part of the purine nucleotide cycle. ADSL is involved in both de novo synthesis of purines and formation of adenosine monophosphate from inosine monophosphate. ADSL catalyzes 2 reactions in AMP biosynthesis: the removal of a fumarate from succinylaminoimidazole carboxamide (SAICA) ribotide to yield aminoimidazole carboxamide ribotide (AICA) and removal of fumarate from adenylosuccinate to yield AMP. Defects in the ADSL are the cause of adenylosuccinase deficiency (ADSL deficiency). ADSL deficiency is an autosomal recessive disorder distinguished by the accumulation in the body fluids of succinylaminoimidazole-carboxamide riboside (SAICA-riboside) and succinyladenosine (S-Ado). Adenylosuccinase deficiency results in succinylpurinemic autism, psychomotor retardation, and in some cases, growth retardation associated with muscle wasting and epilepsy.

Unlike other products taken for type 2 diabetes, Exedin-4 has not been linked with weight gain and actually resulted in weight loss, according to the researchers. Exedin-4 enhances glucose-dependant secretion, suppresses inappropriately elevated secretion and slows gastric emptying in vivo. It also promotes B-cell proliferation and neogenesis in vitro and in animal models. Exedin-4 stimulates an increase in acinar cAMP, without stimulating the release of amylase.

Killer Cell Lectin-Like Receptor Subfamily C, Member 1 (KLRC1) is a part of the killer cell lectin-like receptor family. KLRC1 functions as a receptor for the detection of MHC class I HLA-E molecules by NK cells and some cytotoxic T-cells. KLRC1 is also connects with CD94 and is expressed on NK cells and some activated T cell.

ARG1 catalyzes the hydrolysis of arginine to ornithine and urea. 2 isoforms of mammalian arginase exist which vary in their tissue distribution, subcellular localization, immunologic crossreactivity and physiologic role. ARG1 is a cytosolic enzyme and expressed widely in the liver as part of the urea cycle. Inherited deficiency of this ARG1 causes argininemia, which is an autosomal recessive disorder characterized by hyperammonemia.
