E-selectin (SELE) is a part of a family of divalent cation-dependent carbohydrate-binding glycoproteins or adhesion molecules. E-selectin is expressed on the surface of endothelial cells and mediates the interaction of leukocytes and platelets with endothelial cells during an inflammatory response. E-selectin is present in single copy in the human genome and contains 14 exons spanning about 13 kb of DNA.

Homeodomain-only protein (HOPX) functions via its interaction with SRF, thus modulating the expression of SRF-dependent cardiac-specific genes and cardiac development. HOPX inhibits SRF-dependent transcription either by hindering SRF binding to DNA or by engaging histone deacetylase (HDAC) proteins which prevent transcription by SRF. HOPX is a homeodomain protein which lacks certain conserved residues required for DNA binding. HOPX overexpression causes cardiac hypertrophy.

Serpin Peptidase Inhibitor, Clade D Member 1 (SERPIND1) is a serine proteinase inhibitor which rapidly inhibits thrombin in the presence of dermatan sulfate. SERPIND1 gene is a member of the serpin gene superfamily. SERPIND1 protein contains 5 exons and 4 introns. SERPIND1 shares homology with antithrombin III and other members of the alpha 1-antitrypsin superfamily. SERPIND1 gene mutations are linked with cofactor II deficiency. SERPIND1 protein is activated by dermatan sulfate, and glycosaminoglycans. Allelic variations in the SERPIND1 gene are linked with cofactor II deficiency.

Plasma protease C1 inhibitor (SERPING1) is a part of the serpin superfamily of serine protease inhibitors. SERPING1 plays an important role in regulating activation of both the complement and contact systems. That isdue to the fact that SERPING1 regulates the activation of complement factor C1 in addition to the activity of activated C1 by coupling with the active catalytic site at the light chains of C1r and C1s. SERPING1 insufficiency results in hereditary angioedema, which is characterized by recurrent episodes of localized angioedema of the skin, gastrointestinal mucosa or upper respiratory mucosa.

SERPINI1 (Neuroserpin) is an inhibitory serpin which is expressed primarily in the central nervous system. It is highly expressed in peripheral blood leukocytes, pancreas and liver, with moderate levels in thymus, spleen and lung and low expression levels were in small intestine, placenta and prostate. Gene expression of CXCL11 is strongly induced by IFN-g and IFN-b, and weakly induced by IFN-a. This chemokine elicits its effects on its target cells by interacting with the cell surface chemokine receptor CXCR3, with a higher affinity than do the other ligands for this receptor, CXCL9 and CXCL10. CXCL11 is chemotactic for activated T cells. Its gene is located on human chromosome 4 along with many other members of the CXC chemokine family.

Dynein light chain Tctex-type 1 (DYNLT1) is a member of the dynein light chain Tctex-type family. DYNLT1 is a dynein light chain involved in cargo binding. DYNLT1 acts as one of several non-catalytic accessory components of the cytoplasmic dynein 1 complex which are believed to be involved in linking dynein to cargos and to adapter proteins that regulate dynein function. Cytoplasmic dynein is a key motor protein complex responsible for minus-end, microtubule-based motile processes. It is produced following stimulation of cells with the inflammatory cytokines interleukin-1 or tumor necrosis factor-alpha. Expression of CXCL5 has also been observed in eosinophils. This chemokine stimulates the chemotaxis of neutrophils possesses angiogenic properties. It elicits these effects by interacting with the cell surface chemokine receptor CXCR2. The gene for CXCL5 is encoded on four exons and is located on human chromosome 4 amongst several other CXC chemokine genes. CXCL5 has been implicated in connective tissue remodelling.

SRGN is identified as a hematopoietic cell granule proteoglycan. Proteoglycans stored in the secretory granules of various hematopoietic cells also hold a protease-resistant peptide core, and is vital for neutralizing hydrolytic enzymes. SRGN is related to the macromolecular complex of granzymes and perforin that acts as a intermediary of granule-mediated apoptosis.

EXOSC5 is a member of the RNase PH family. EXOSC5 is known to cooperate with Exosome component 8 and Exosome component 1. EXOSC5 is a Non-catalytic component of the RNA exosome complex and has 3'->5' exoribonuclease activity. EXOSC5 take part in a large number of cellular RNA processing and degradation events. EXOSC5 is expressed in a large range of hematopoietic and epithelial tumor cell lines, but not in standard hematopoietic tissues or other standard tissue, with the exception of testis.

EXOSC7, a component of the RNA exosome complex, is a member of the RNase PH family. EXOSC7 takes part is several pathways such as transfer to a nascent protein and Unfolded Protein Response and Biosynthesis of the N-glycan precursor (dolichol lipid-linked oligosaccharide, LLO). A significant paralog of this gene is EXOSC9.

PDCL3 belongs to the phosducin-like protein family which its members are known to bind to the beta-gamma subunits of G proteins. PDCL3 is a potential regulator of heterotrimeric G proteins and has a large amino acid sequence homology with phosducin.
