DYNLT3 belongs to a subclass of dynein light chains. The DYNLT3 protein homodimerizes and forms the light chain component of the cytoplasmic dynein motor protein complex. DYNLT3 functions as one of several non-catalytic accessory components of the cytoplasmic dynein 1 complex which are believed to be involved in linking dynein to cargos and to adapter proteins that regulate dynein function. DYNLT3 may also work independently of dynein as a transcriptional modulator. DYNLT3 is required for the effective progression through mitosis.

NFKB inhibitor interacting Ras-like 2 (NKIRAS2) is an inhibitor of the transcription factor NF-kappaB. NKIRAS2 is similar to the Ras-like small GTPases which associate with IkappaB. The Ras-like proteins- NKIRAS1 and NKIRAS2, interact with the PEST domains of I?B? and I?B? and reduce their rate of degradation. NKIRAS2 is an atypical Ras-like protein which functions as a potent regulator of NF-kappa-B activity by preventing the degradation of NF-kappa-B inhibitor beta (NFKBIB) by most signals, explaining why NFKBIB is more impervious to degradation.

Sperm Antigen With Calponin Homology And Coiled-Coil 1 (SPECC1) which is a part of the cytospin-A family takes part in cytokinesis and spindle organization. SPECC1 takes part in actin cytoskeleton organization and microtubule stabilization and therefore necessary for proper cell adhesion and migration.

NXT1 operates as a nuclear export factor in both RAN and CRM1 dependent pathways. NXT1 is known to stimulate the export of U1 snRNA in RAN (Ras-related nuclear protein) and CRM1 (chromosome region maintenance) dependent pathways and the export of tRNA and mRNA in a CRM1-independent pathway. This protein heterodimerizes with Tap protein and regulates the ability of Tap protein to intermediate nuclear mRNA export.

Twinfilin (TWF1) is a ubiquitous actin-monomer-binding protein which is composed of two ADF-homology domains. Twinfilin forms a 1:1 complex with ADP-actin-monomers, prevents nucleotide exchange on actin monomers and blocks assembly of the monomer into filaments. TWF1 is composed of 2 ADF/cofilin-like (ADF-H) domains joined by a short linker region and followed by a C-terminal tail of approximately 20 residues. The 2 ADF-H domains are approximately 20% homologous to ADF/cofilin and to each other. TWF1 protein may be an actin monomer-binding protein, and its localization to cortical G-actin-rich structures might be regulated by the small GTPase RAC1.

Ubiquitin Carboxyl-Terminal Esterase L1 (UCHL1) is a part of a family whose products hydrolyze small C-terminal adducts of ubiquitin to create the ubiquitin monomer. UCHL1 is a part of the ubiquitin system, which regulates many biological activities. UCHL1 is a thiol protease that distinguishes and hydrolyzes a peptide bond at the C-terminal glycine of ubiquitin. UCHL1 binds to free monoubiquitin and avoids its degradation in lysosomes.

USP15 belongs to the ubiquitin specific protease (USP) family of deubiquitinating enzymes which has a vital role in ubiquitin-dependent processes through polyubiquitin chain disassembly and hydrolysis of ubiquitin-substrate bonds. Glycophorin C, also known as GYPC, is an integral membrane glycoprotein. GYPC is a minor species which is carried by human erythrocytes, however plays an important role in regulating the mechanical stability of red cells. Numeral glycophorin C mutations have been described. The Gerbich and Yus phenotypes are due to deletion of exon 3 & 2, respectively. The Webb & Duch antigens, also identified as glycophorin D, result from single point mutations of the glycophorin C gene. The glycophorin C protein has very slight homology with glycophorins A & B.

Vascular endothelial growth factor is an important signaling protein involved in both vasculogenesis and angiogenesis. As its name implies, VEGF activity has been mostly studied on cells of the vascular endothelium, although it does have effects on a number of other cell types (e.g. stimulation monocyte/ macrophagemigration, neurons, cancer cells, kidney epithelial cells ).VEGF mediates increased vascular permeability, induces angiogenesis, vasculogenesis and endothelial cell growth, promotes cell migration, and inhibits apoptosis. In vitro, VEGF has been shown to stimulate endothelial cell mitogenesisand cell migration. VEGF is also a vasodilator and increases microvascular permeability and was originally referred to as vascular permeability factor.
Elevated levels of this protein are linked to POEMS syndrome, also known as Crow-Fukase syndrome. Mutations in this gene have been associated with proliferative and nonproliferative diabetic retinopathy.

VEGF-C152S is a point mutant generated by the replacement of the second conserved Cys residue of the recombinant processed VEGF-C by a Ser residue. VEGF-C 152S is analog to the human VEGF-C 156S mutant and only active toward VEGFR-3/FLT-4 but, unlike wild type VEGF-C, is unable to bind to and to activate signaling through VEGFR-2/KDR. NADH dehydrogenase [ubiquinone] iron-sulfur protein 3 (NDUFS3) is a member of the complex I 30 kDa subunit family. NDUFS3 is one of the iron-sulfur protein (IP) components of mitochondrial NADH:ubiquinone oxidoreductase (complex I). This complex is the first enzyme complex in the electron transport chain of mitochondria. The iron-sulfur protein (IP) fraction of complex I consists of seven subunits. NDUFS3 gene mutations are linked with Leigh syndrome resulting from mitochondrial complex indefficiency.

Cadherin-5, also known as CDH5 is a classical cadherin which belongs to the cadherin superfamily. The CDH5is located in a six-cadherin cluster in a region on the long arm of chromosome 16 which is involved in loss ofheterozygosity events in breast as well as prostate cancer. CDH5 is a calcium-dependent cell-celladhesion glycoprotein composed of five extracellular cadherin repeats, a transmembrane region and a highlyconserved cytoplasmic tail. Furthermore, CDH5 functions as a classic cadherin by passing on to cells the ability to adhere in ahomophilic manner, CDH5 plays a significant role in endothelial cell biology through control of the cohesion as well as organization of the intercellular junctions.

R-Spondin-1 (Rspo1) is a part of the Rspondin family. Rspo1 plays a role as an activator of the canonical Wnt signaling pathway by acting as a ligand for LGR4-6 receptors. Rspo1 induces the onset of crypt cell proliferation and increases intestinal epithelial healing effect. Rspo1 is negatively regulating the TGF-beta pathway.

Guanosine-3',5'-bis(diphosphate)-pyrophosphohydrolase MESH1 (HDDC3) contains an active site for ppGpp hydrolysis and a conserved His-Asp-box motif for Mn(2+) binding. In accordance with its structure, HDDC3 effectively catalyzes the hydrolysis of guanosine 3',5'-diphosphate (ppGpp) both in vitro and in vivo. In addition, HDDC3 suppresses SpoT-deficient lethality and RelA-induced delayed cell growth in bacteria.
