IL-25 also called IL-17E cytokine has a sequence similarity with IL17. IL-17E indluces NF-kappaB activation, and stimulates the production of IL-8. IL17E and IL17B are ligands for the cytokine receptor IL17BR. IL-25 is a proinflammatory cytokine favoring Th2-type immune response. The upregulation of costimulation-induced IL-17E receptors and release of cytokines and chemokines from IL-17E treated costimulated Th cells are differentially regulated by intracellular JNK, p38 MAPK and NF-kappaB activity. Blocking Iinterleukin-25 prevents airway hyperresponsiveness, a critical feature of clinical asthma. IL25 produced by innate effector eosinophils and basophils increase the allergic inflammation by enhancing the maintenance and functions of TSLP-DC activated adaptive Th2 memory cells. Over expression of IL-25 up-regulates gene expression of Th2 cytokines and induces growth retardation, jaundice, and multiorgan inflammation in a transgenic mouse model. S100A10 is a member of the S100 family of proteins contains two EF-hand calcium-binding motifs and is thought to be involved in the regulation of a number of cellular processes including cell cycle progression and differentiation. S100 proteins are localized either in the cytoplasm or the nucleus of a wide range of cells. There are at least 13 members in the S100 gene family, which are located as a cluster on chromosome 1q21. The keratins are intermediate filament proteins responsible for the structural integrity of epithelial cells and are subdivided into cytokeratins and hair keratins. The type I cytokeratins consist of acidic proteins which are arranged in pairs of heterotypic keratin chains. This cytokeratin is a major cellular protein of mature enterocytes and goblet cells and is specifically expressed in the gastric and intestinal mucosa. The type I cytokeratin genes are clustered in a region of chromosome 17q12-q21.

CD79B is a 36 kDa trans membrane glycoprotein belonging to the immunoglobulin superfamily. Heterodimers of CD79A and CD79B connect with a membrane attached immunoglobulin on the B cell surface to create the B cell antigen receptor complex (BCR). CD79A and CD79B are essential for BCR-mediated signaling and subsequently for the development and activation of B lineage cells.

MAPRE1 (EB1) is a member of the intermediate/early gene family. MAPRE1 was first identified by its binding to the APC protein, which is often mutated in familial and sporadic, forms of colorectal cancer. MAPRE1 localizes to microtubules, especially the growing ends, in interphase cells. During mitosis, MAPRE1 is associated with the centrosomes and spindle microtubules. MAPRE1 is involved in microtubule polymerization, and spindle function by stabilizing microtubules and anchoring them at centrosomes.

UPRT is a uracil phosphoribosyltransferase, that catalyzes the alteration of uracil and 5-phosphoribosyl-1-R-diphosphate to uridine monophosphate (UMP). This reaction is a significant part of nucleotide metabolism, specifically the pyrimidine salvage pathway. UPRT is restricted to the nucleus and cytoplasm and is a possible target for rational design of drugs to cure cancer and parasitic infections.

Fatty acid binding protein 9 (FABP9) belongs to the fatty acid-binding proteins (FABPs) which are a family of small, extremely conserved, cytoplasmic proteins to bind long-chain fatty acids and other hydrophobic ligands. FABP9 is found in midpachytene spermatocytes and round spermatids, and comprises part of the perinuclear theca. FABP9 probably links intracellular membranes and signals abnormal sperm formation during spermatogenesis.

Yersinia enterocolitica is a Gram-negative bacillus-shaped bacterium, which is a member of the Enterobacteriaceae family. Y.Enterocolitica is motile at temperatures between 22-29°C, however becomes non-motile at normal human body temperature. Y. Enterocolitica infection causes the yersiniosis disease, which is an animal-borne disease occurring in humans, as well as in a various groups of animals such as cattle, deer, pigs, and birds. Yersinia enterocolitica is a heterogeneous group of strains, which are conventionally classified by bio-typing into six bio-groups on the basis of phenotypic characteristics, and by serotyping into more than 57 “O” serogroups, on the basis of their O (lipopolysaccharide or LPS) surface antigen. Five of the six biogroups (1B and 2–5) are considered as pathogens. Nevertheless, only a few of these serogroups have been linked with disease in either humans or animals. Strains which belong to serogroups O:3 (biogroup 4), O:5,27 (biogroups 2 and 3), O:8 (biogroup 1B), and O:9 (biogroup 2) are most frequently isolated worldwide from human samples. Still, the main Y. enterocolitica serogroup in many European countries is serogroup O:3 followed by O:9, whereas the serogroup O:8 is mostly detected in the United States.

IL-32 pro-inflammatory pathway is activated in response to influenza A virus infection. AGXT is expressed only in the liver and its protein is localized mostly in the peroxisomes, where it is involved in glyoxylate detoxification. Mutations in the AGXT gene, some of which alter subcellular targetting, have been linked to type I primary hyperoxaluria.

IL4 is a pleiotropic cytokine produced by activated T cells. IL4 is a ligand for interleukin 4 receptor. The interleukin 4 receptor also binds to IL13, which may contribute to many overlapping functions of this cytokine and IL13. STAT6, a signal transducer and activator of transcription, has been shown to play a central role in mediating the immune regulatory signal of this cytokine. This gene, IL3, IL5, IL13, and CSF2 form a cytokine gene cluster on chromosome 5q, with this gene particularly close to IL13. IL4, IL13 and IL5 are found to be regulated coordinately by several long-range regulatory elements in an over 120 kilobase range on the chromosome. Two alternatively spliced transcript variants of this gene encoding distinct isoforms have been reported.

MAT2B is part of the methionine adenosyltransferase family. MAT2B catalyzes the biosynthesis of S-adenosylmethionine from methionine and ATP. MAT2B is the regulatory beta subunit of MAT. MAT2B expression in hepatoma cell lines increases DNA synthesis and thus take part in cell proliferation.

PHPT1 is a member of the Janus protein familyand is 125 amino acid long. PHPT1 appears as a monomer in the cytoplasm and is an EDTA-insensitive phosphohistidine phosphatase. Overexpression of PHPT1 resolts in specific phosphohistidine phosphatase activity towards phosphopeptide I, with no activity detected towards phosphotyrosine, phosphothreonine and phosphoserine peptides.

TREM1 is a transmembrane receptor protein that is involved in monocytic activation and in the inflammatory response. TREM1 is expressed on the surface of neutrophils, mature monocytes and macrophages. TREM1 stimulates neutrophil and monocyte-mediated inflammatory responses. TREM1 also triggers the release of pro-inflammatory chemokines and cytokines, as well as increased surface expression of cell activation markers. Furthermore, TREM1 is an amplifier of inflammatory responses that are triggered by bacterial and fungal infections and is a fundamental mediator of septic shock. The expression of the soluble form of TREM1 increases during sepsis and can consequently be used as a biological marker for septic shock. TREM1 is strongly expressed in acute inflammatory lesions caused by bacteria and fungi. Increased TREM1 expression on monocytes is related to both infectious and noninfectious inflammatory processes.
TREM1 is vastly expressed in adult liver, lung and spleen than in corresponding fetal tissue. TREM1 is also expressed in the lymph node, placenta, spinal cord and heart tissues. TREM1 expression is more elevated in peripheral blood leukocytes than in the bone marrow and in normal cells than malignant cells. TREM1 is expressed at low levels in the early development of the hematopoietic system and in the promonocytic stage and at high levels in mature monocytes.
