Crk-like protein (CRKL) is a protein kinase containing SH2 and SH3 (src homology) domains which activates the RAS and JUN kinase signaling pathways and transforms fibroblasts in a RAS-dependent manner. CRKL is a substitute of the BCR-ABL tyrosine kinase, it also has a role in fibroblast transformation by BCR-ABL, and has oncogenic potential.

Mutations in HRAS result in Costello syndrome, a disease characterized by increased growth at the prenatal stage, growth deficiency at the postnatal stage, predisposition to tumor formation, mental retardation, skin and musculoskeletal abnormalities, distinctive facial appearance and cardiovascular abnormalities. Defects in this HRAS gene are implicated in a range of cancers, including bladder cancer, follicular thyroid cancer, and oral squamous cell carcinoma.

RRAS2 (RAS viral (r-ras) oncogene homolog 2) is a member of the Ras like GTPase family that cycle between GTP-bound active and GDP-bound inactive states at the cytoplasmic face of the plasma membrane. RRAS2 is a plasma membrane-associated GTP-binding protein with GTPase activity. RRAS2 is implicated in the pathogenesis of human cancers. Hence, overexpression of active RRAS2 in EpH4 cells induces tumorigenicity through the phosphoinositide 3-kinase, p38 MAPK, and mTOR pathways, as these cells lose their sensitivity to the normal growth inhibitory role of TGF-beta. RRAS2 might transduce growth inhibitory signals across the cell membrane, exerting its effect via an effector shared with the Ras proteins but in an antagonistic manner.
RRAS2 is ubiquitously present in all tissues examined, with the highest levels in the heart, placenta, and skeletal muscle. Moderate levels of RRAS2 are found in the lung and liver and low levels in the brain, kidney, and pancreas.
RRAS2 deficiencies are linked to ovarian cancer.

ORF73 protein of human herpesvirus 8 is a Kaposi''s sarcoma-associated herpesvirus latent protein that is suspected of playing a critical role in modulating viral and cellular gene expression. ORF73 is linked to cellular chromatin and stays on the chromosomes during cell division. ORF73 maintains the viral genomes during cell division by tethering the viral episomes to the chromosomes. ORF73 binds directly to replication origin recognition complexes which are primarily connected with the terminal repeat region of the HHV8 genome.

RAP2A belongs to the RAS oncogene family and a Ras-like small G protein. The RAP2A protein shares 60% identity with Rap1A and exhibits a carboxy-terminal CAAX motif and 2 upstream cysteines similar to those of the H-Ras, K-Ras and N-Ras proteins. Rab21 associates with the cytoplasmic domains of alpha-integrin chains and their expression influences the endo/exocytic traffic of integrins. This function of Rab21 depends on its GTP/GDP cycle and right membrane targeting.
