RBBP9, restricts to the nucleus and cytoplasm, is a retinoblastoma binding protein which takes part in the regulation of cell proliferation and differentiation. RBBP9 cooperates with retinoblastoma (Rb) and offers cellular resistance to the growth-inhibitory effects of TGFbeta1, therefore enabling the cellular transformation process.

Sirtuin-1 (SIRT1) belongs to the sirtuin family of proteins, homologs to the yeast Sir2 protein. Sirtuin family members are characterized by a sirtuin core domain and grouped into 4 classes. The functions of human sirtuins have not yet been established; though, yeast sirtuin proteins are known to regulate epigenetic gene silencing and suppress recombination of rDNA. It has been proposed that the human sirtuins may serve as intracellular regulatory proteins with mono-ADP-ribosyltransferase activity.

RAB10, Member RAS Oncogene Family (RAB10) belongs to the Ras superfamily of small GTP-binding proteins. RAB10 is a key regulator of endocytic recycling, particularly in the basolateral recycling pathways of polarized epithelial cells. It is required for the recruitment of CNT-1 to endosomal membranes in the intestinal epithelium.

NusA is an important player in both prevention and enhancement of transcriptional termination. NusA is important both in Rho-dependent and intrinsic termination, as well as in lambda and other phage antitermination systems. The NusA gene was first identified by isolation of the nusAl mutation, which limits bacteriophage-l growth by preventing the antitermination activity of the l N protein. NusA plays a role in transcriptional antitermination in the cell. It has been shown to specifically aid in read-through of the RNA polymerase genes rpoB and rpoC, as well as in successful synthesis of the ribosomal RNA genes. Additionally to its anti-termination role, NusA is needed for both Rho-dependent and intrinsic transcriptional termination. NusA is obligatory for Rho-dependent termination in lambda phage and in the cell. NusA plays a role in intrinsic termination and the inhibition of RNA elongation. However NusA interacts with all three subunits of RNA polymerase, its termination activity primarily depends on its interaction with the carboxy-terminus of RpoA. NusA induces conformational change in RNA polymerase & prevents RNA interaction with RpoA. This binding sequentially activates NusA, allowing it to bind RNA and promote formation of hairpins at intrinsic termination sites. NusA binds Rho, and participates with sigma70 for binding to the core RNA polymerase complex. NusA does not compete with NusG for binding to either Rho or the polymerase, despite modulating the same process as NusG in both cases.

Ras-related protein Rap-2b (RAP2B) is a part of RAS-related genes family. RAP2B has a threonine residue at aa 61Unlike normal ras proteins which have a nontransforming glutamine residue at that position. The threonine residue makes the intrinsic GTPase activity for Rap2B lower, by this means allows RAP2B to exist in the activated state for a longer period of time than normal ras proteins. RAP2B is a platelet protein which is activated by thrombin and involved in platelet activation. RAP2B may be a candidate oncogene which takes part in carcinogenesis through activation of NF-kappaB pathway.

ADP-ribosylation factor-like protein 5B (ARL5B) is a member of a family of proteins which are structurally similar to ADP-ribosylation factors. ARLs and ARFs belong to the RAS superfamily of regulatory GTPases. ARL5B is most closely related to ARL5, with which it shares 80% sequence identity. Furthermore, Human ARL5B shares 100% identity with mouse ARL8 and 71% identity with the Drosophila homolog.

Green Fluorescent Protein is a useful and ubiquitous instrument for producing chimeric proteins, where it functions as a fluorescent protein tag. rGFP is expressed in most known cell types and is used as a noninvasive fluorescent marker in living cells and organisms. Green Fluorescent Protein permits a broad range of applications where it has functioned as a cell lineage tracer, reporter of gene expression, or as a measure of protein-protein interactions.

RAB27B is a member of the RAB family and is an important regulator of vesicular transport. RAB27B is expressed in pituitary tissue, but is more extensively expressed in brain and spleen. RAB27B may be functionally redundant to Rab27a, as it can salvage Rab27a mutants.

RAB39B, Member RAS Oncogene Family (RAB39B) belongs to the Rab family of proteins. Rab proteins are small GTPases, which are involved in vesicular trafficking. RAB39B gene mutations are linked with X-linked mental retardation.

Ras-related GTP binding C (RRAGC) is a monomeric guanine nucleotide-binding protein, or G protein. The protein kinase A holoenzyme is a heterotetramer composed of two types of subunits: Catalytic and Regulatory. The Catalyticsubunit contains the enzyme's active site. It also contains a domain that binds ATP and a domain that binds the regulatory subunit. The Regulatory subunit consists oftwo molecules which bind one another in an anti-parallel orientation to form a homodimer; for type I subunits- this binding is covalent via disulfide bonds. This subunit also has has two domains that bind cyclic AMP, a domain that interacts with a catalytic subunit, and an "auto-inhibitory" domain that serves as a substrate or pseudosubstrate for the catalytic subunit. Regulatory subunits may also have biologic activity distinct from their role in modulating catalytic subunit activity. Regulatory subunits exist in two major forms, RI and RII, with each form having two subtypes designated alpha and beta. Each of the four isotypes of the regulatory subunit is encoded by a different gene. In addition, three isotypes of the catalytic subunit have been identified (alpha, beta and gamma). The different isotypes tend to have different distributions within cells and among tissues. Type I enzymes inhabit cytoplasmic, soluble fractions of the cell, whereas type II enzymes tend to associate with cellular membranes.

ARL5A is a member of the ARF family of GTP-binding proteins. ARFs are vital in eukaryotic vesicular trafficking pathways and have a crucial part in the activation of phospholipase D. Different from ARF family members, ARL5 is believed to lack ADP-ribosylation enhancing activity. ARL5A is developmentally regulated and has a role in nuclear dynamics and signaling cascades during embryonic development.

SKP is a 17kDa trimeric periplasmic chaperone that supports outer membrane proteins in their folding and insertion into membranes. SKP protein is necessary for the normal release of ompA from the inner membrane, the maintenance of its solubility in the periplasm, and, in association with lipopolysaccharide (LPS), for the efficient folding and insertion of ompA into the outer membrane.

RBM8A belongs to the EJC (The exon junction complex) which is involved in mRNA export, cytoplasmic localization and nonsense mediated mRNA decay. RBM8A is able to communicate to the cytoplasm the processing history of the mRNA, including the position of the removed introns. Even though RBM8A shuttles to the cytoplasm, it is mostly detected in the nucleus and is colocalized with oskar mRNA at the posterior pole of the cell.

RING1- and YY1-binding protein (RYBP) belongs to the polycomb group (PcG). RYBP interacts with MDM2 and decreases MDM2-mediated p53 ubiquitination, which leads to stabilization of p53 and an increase in p53 activity. RYBP causes cell-cycle arrest and is involved in the p53 response to DNA damage. RYBP interacts with RING1, YY1, Caspase 10, E2F3, E2F2, Mdm2, Abl gene and CBX2. RYBP inhibits ubiquitination and subsequent degradation of TP53, and thus has a role in regulating transcription of TP53 target genes. RYBP may also be involved in the regulation of the transcription as a repressor of the transcriptional activity of E4TF1. RYBP may bind to DNA, and promote apoptosis.
