CDKN2C is a member of the CDKN2 cyclin-dependent kinase inhibitor family. CDKN2C cooperates with CDK4 or CDK6, and inhibits the activation of the CDK kinases, therefore acts as a cell growth regulator which regulates cell cycle G1 progression. CDKN2C suppresses the cell growth and proliferation with a correlated dependency on endogenous retinoblastoma protein RB. Studies in the knockout mice show CDKN2C takes part in regulating spermatogenesis, in addition to suppressing tumorigenesis.

SNRPC participates in the processing of nuclear precursor messenger RNA splicing. snRNP particles are tackled by autoantibodies frequently produced by patients with connective tissue diseases.

SIGLEC10 is an adhesion molecule that mediates sialic-acid dependent binding to cells.SIGLEC10 is a ligand for CD52, the target of the therapeutic monoclonal antibody Alemtuzumab. Also, it binds to Vascular adhesion protein 1 (VAP-1) and to the co-stimulatory molecule CD24.This binding is modulated by cis interactions of SIGLEC10 with sialated molecules on the same cell.

Biglycan (BGN) is a small cellular or pericellular matrix proteoglycan which takes part in assembly of collagen fibrils and muscle regeneration. BGN is closely correlated in structure to two other small proteoglycans, decorin and fibromodulin. LYVE-1 has been identified as a major receptor for HA (extracellular matrix glycosaminoglycan hyaluronan) on the lymph vessel wall. The deduced amino acid sequence of LYVE-1 predicts a 322-residue type I integral membrane polypeptide 41% similar to the CD44 HA receptor with a 212-residue extracellular domain containing a single Link module the prototypic HA binding domain of the Link protein superfamily. Like CD44, the LYVE-1 molecule binds both soluble and immobilized HA. However, unlike CD44, the LYVE-1 molecule colocalizes with HA on the luminal face of the lymph vessel wall and is completely absent from blood vessels. Hence, LYVE-1 is the first lymph-specific HA receptor to be characterized and is a uniquely powerful marker for lymph vessels themselves.
