      Renalase (RNLS) is a flavin adenine dinucleotide-dependent amine oxidase which is secreted into the blood from the kidney. RNLS acts as a hormone which metabolizes circulating catecholamines that have an active role in the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems. High catecholamine concentration activates plasma RNLS and promotes its secretion and synthesis.

    • Introduction

      CDC34 takes part in the control of cell cycle and DNA replication. Cdc34 in association with different E3 complexes, including SCF, targets many different substrates for ubiquitination and degradation during cell division, signal transduction, and development. Cdc34 substrates that have been characterized include B-Myb, Wee1, MyoD, ATF5, p27Xic1, and p27Kip1. Additionally, substrates such as p21Cip1, E2F, cyclin E, and cyclin D are putative substrates of Cdc34 by virtue of their SCF requirement for proteolysis. Cdc34 is self-associate through a domain in the C-terminus, and is phosphorylated and ubiquitinylated in vivo. CDC34is useful for in vitro ubiquitinylation reactions.

      OAS1 enzyme is a member of the 2’,5’-oligoadenylate synthetase family. OAS1 is induced by interferons and uses adenosine triphosphate in 2’-specific nucleotidyl transfer reactions to synthesize 2’,5’-oligoadenylates(2-5As). These molecules in turn activate latent RNase L resulting in viral RNA degradation and the inhibition of viral replication.
      OAS1 may have a role in mediating resistance to virus infection, control of cell growth, differentiation, and apoptosis. OAS1 binds double-stranded RNA and polymerizes ATP into PPP (A2'P5'A)N oligomers, which activate the latent RNase L that, once activated, cleaves single-stranded RNAs.
      OAS1 gene mutations are been linked to host susceptibility to viral infection.
      OSA1 gene polymorphisms are linked to the outcome of hepatitis C virus infection. Furthermore, OAS1 gene polymorphisms are linked to the susceptibility to severe acute respiratory syndrome.

      TSTA3 is a NADP(H)-binding protein. TSTA3 catalyzes the two-step epimerase and the reductase reactions in GDP-D-mannose metabolism, converting GDP-4-keto-6-D-deoxymannose to GDP-L-fucose.
