    • Introduction

LIM domain only 1 (LMO1) is a protein-coding gene. LMO1 encodes a transcriptional regulator which contains two cysteine-rich LIM domains but lacks a DNA-binding domain. LIM domains might play a part in protein interactions; hence the protein may regulate transcription by competitively binding to specific DNA-binding transcription factors.

    • Introduction

Leucine Rich Repeat And Ig Domain Containing 1, also known as Lingo1 is primarily expressed in neuronal tissue, and most abundantly in the cortex. In addition, Lingo 1 is involved in the inhibition of axon regeneration all the way through a ternary complex formed with NgR1 (ligand-binding subunit) and p75 (signal transducing subunit). The inhibitory action is accomplished through RhoA-GTP upregulation in response to the presence of MOG, MAG or Nogo-66 in the central nervous system. Furthermore, LINGO-1 inhibits oligodendrocyte precursor differentiation as well as myelination, by a mechanism which also involves activation of RhoA, however it appears that it does not require 75 or NgR1.

    • Synonyms

      Leucine Rich Repeat And Ig Domain Containing 1, LRRN6A, Leucine-Rich Repeat And Immunoglobulin Domain-Containing Protein 1, Leucine-Rich Repeat Neuronal Protein 1, Leucine Rich Repeat Neuronal 6A, LERN1, Leucine-Rich Repeat And Immunoglobulin-Like Domain-Containing Nogo Receptor-Interacting Protein 1, Leucine-Rich Repeat Neuronal Protein 6A, UNQ201, LERN1, Leucine-rich repeat and immunoglobulin-like domain-containing nogo receptor-interacting protein 1.

    • Background

Complement component 3b (C3b) is a key protein in the complement system, a crucial component of the innate immune response. C3b plays a pivotal role in opsonization, inflammation, and clearance of pathogens and damaged cells. In mouse models, research on C3b has provided valuable insights into its mechanism of action, activity, and implications in immune function. This paper aims to delve into the dynamics of mouse C3b, shedding light on its functional attributes and potential applications in immunological research. C3b Inactivated protein has lost its biological capabilities due to structural changes compared to C3b that has binding sites to factor P, factor H, factor B, factorC5, and factor-I and therefore it destroys these sites.

Significantly, C3b inactivated protein cannot bind factor B and is therefore it cannot participate in complement activation.

C3b inactivated protein still binds tC50 properdin and CR3 receptor.

    • Introduction

A human infecting coronavirus (viral pneumonia) called 2019 novel coronavirus, 2019-nCoV was found in the fish market at the city of Wuhan, Hubei province of China on December 2019.

The 2019-nCoV shares an 87% identity to the 2 bat-derived severe acute respiratory syndrome 2018 SARS-CoV-2 located in Zhoushan of eastern China. 2019-nCoV has an analogous receptor-BD-structure to that of 2018 SARS-CoV, even though there is a.a. diversity so thus the 2019-nCoV might bind to ACE2 receptor protein (angiotensin-converting enzyme 2) in humans.

While bats are possibly the host of 2019-nCoV, researchers suspect that animal from the ocean sold at the seafood market was an intermediate host. RSCU analysis proposes that the 2019-nCoV is a recombinant within the viral spike glycoprotein between the bat coronavirus and an unknown coronavirus.

    • Introduction

PTB domain-containing engulfment adapter protein 1 (GULP1) is an evolutionarily conserved adaptor protein essential for efficient phagocytosis of apoptotic cells by phagocytes. Furthermore, GULP1 helps modulate cellular glycosphingolipid and cholesterol transport. In addition, GULP1 may have a role in the internalization and endosomal trafficking of various LRP1 ligands, such as PSAP. Increased cytoplasmic levels of GULP1 are linked with increases in cellular levels of GTP-bound ARF6.

    • Introduction

SH3-domain GRB2-like 2 (SH3GL2) is a member of the endophilin family. SH3GL2 contains a BAR domain and a SH3 domain. Members of the BAR domain protein superfamily are crucial elements of cellular traffic. Endophilins have a major function in synaptic vesicle endocytosis (SVE), receptor trafficking and apoptosis, and in other processes which require remodeling of the membrane structure. SH3GL2 is a novel tumor suppressor gene in laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma (LSCC), which induces apoptosis of tumor cells by regulating intra-cellular signal transduction networks. SH3GL2 is implicated in synaptic vesicle endocytosis. SH3GL2 is found in the brain, mainly in frontal cortex, and at high level in the fetal cerebellum.

    • Introduction

UBTD2 is an ubiquitin (Ub) domain-containing protein, originally recognized in dendritic cells, that takes part in ubiquitination pathway. Ubiquitin is the best understood post-translation modifier; however, there is a growing family of ubiquitin-like proteins (UBLs) who change cellular targets in a pathway. UbL proteins take part in a variation of cellular courses, like DNA repair, protein sorting, protein degradation, cell division, apoptosis and autophagy.

    • Introduction

Cell Growth Regulator with EF-Hand Domain 1, also known as CGREF1 is a secreted calcium ion binding protein. CGREF1 includes two EF-hand domains & both EF-hands are essential for function. CGREF1 is most likely digested extracellularly by an unfamiliar serine protease generating extremely hydrophobic bioactive peptides. CGREF1 mediates cell-cell adhesion in a calcium-dependent manner. In addition, CGREF1 is capable to inhibit growth in more than a few cell lines.

    • Introduction

IFIH1 is a DEAD box protein which is upregulated in response to treatment with beta-interferon and a protein kinase C-activating compound, mezerein. Irreversible reprogramming of melanomas can be attained by therapy with both these agents; treatment with either agent alone only achieves reversible differentiation. DEAD box proteins are implicated in several cellular processes involving alteration of RNA secondary structure such as translation initiation, nuclear and mitochondrial splicing, and ribosome and spliceosome assembly.
