Junctional Adhesion Molecule 2 (JAM2) is a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily, and the junctional adhesion molecule (JAM) family. JAM2 is a type I membrane protein which is localized at the tight junctions of both epithelial and endothelial cells. JAM2 functions as an adhesive ligand for interacting with various immune cell types, and may have a role in lymphocyte homing to secondary lymphoid organs.

The recombinant Protein A/G/L is a genetically engineered protein which combines the IgG binding profiles of all Protein A, Protein G and Protein L. Protein A/G/L is a gene fusion product. Recombinant fusion protein A/G/L is comprised of 5 Ig-binding regions of protein L (B1-B2-B3-B4-B5), 5 IgG binding domains from Protein A (E-D-A-B-C) and 2 Ig-binding region of protein G (C1-C3). The recombinant Protein A/G/L is ideal for purification of monoclonal or polyclonal IgG antibodies. Protein A/G/L binds to IgG from humans, mice, rats, cows, goats, sheep, rabbits, guinea pigs, pigs, dogs and cats.

Adiponectin, also known as Acrp30, AdipoQ and GBP-28, is a 244 amino acid protein, the product of the apM1 gene, which is physiologically active and specifically and highly expressed in adipose cells (Adipokine). Adiponectin is a part of the soluble defense collagen super family; it has a collagen-like domain structurally homologous with collagen VIII and X and complement factor C1q-like globular domain. APM-1 forms homotrimers, which are the building blocks for higher order complexes found circulating in serum.

Proteasomal ubiquitin receptor ADRM1 (ADRM1) functions as a proteasomal ubiquitin receptor. ADRM1 is an integral plasma membrane protein which promotes cell adhesion. ADRM1 is assumed to undergo O-linked glycosylation. ADRM1 employs the deubiquitinating enzyme UCHL5 at the 26S proteasome and promotes its activity.

ANXA6 is part of the family of calcium-dependent membrane and phospholipid binding proteins. ANXA6 mediats the endosome aggregation and vesicle fusion in secreting epithelia during exocytosis. ANXA6 correlates with CD21. ANXA6 regulates the release of Ca(2+) from intracellular stores. ANXA6 is differentially expressed in the lumbar spinal cord from rats submitted to peripheral lesion during neonatal period.

Small nuclear ribonucleoprotein polypeptide G (SNRPG) is a member of the snRNP Sm proteins family. There are at least 7 isoforms, B/B, E, F, G, D1, D2, and D3. This class of common proteins has a vital role in the biogenesis of the snRNPs. The human Sm G genes are mapped to chromosomes 2. Furthermore, these proteins represent the major targets for the supposed anti-Sm auto-antibodies which are diagnostic for SLE (systemic lupus erythematosus). One class of these autoantibodies reacts specifically with native Sm E-F-G complexes.

SPA17 is a protein present at the cell surface. SPA17 was characterized by its participation in the binding of sperm to the zona pellucida of the oocyte. IL13 is an immunoregulatory cytokine produced primarily by activated Th2 cells. IL-13 is involved in several stages of B-cell maturation and differentiation. It up-regulates CD23 and MHC class II expression, and promotes IgE isotype switching of B cells. This cytokine down-regulates macrophage activity, thereby inhibits the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines and chemokines. IL19 is a cytokine that belongs to the IL10 cytokine subfamily. IL-19 is found to be preferentially expressed in monocytes. It can bind the IL20 receptor complex and lead to the activation of the signal transducer and activator of transcription 3 (STAT3). A similar cytokine in mouse is reported to up-regulate the expression of IL6 and TNF-alpha and induce apoptosis, which suggests a role of this cytokine in inflammatory responses. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding the distinct isoforms have been described.

Serine/threonine/tyrosine-interacting protein (STYX) is a member of the protein-tyrosine phosphatase family. STYX contains a Gly residue instead of a conserved Cys residue in the dsPTPase catalytic loop which makes it catalytically inactive as a phosphatase. On the other hand, the binding pocket is adequately preserved to bind phosphorylated substrates, and may protect them from phosphatases. STYX may have a role in spermiogenesis. STYX is a possible pseudophosphatase.

BST2 takes part in the growth and development of B-cells. The human cellular protein BST2 inhibits retrovirus infection by maintaining the diffusion of virus particles after budding from infected cells. BST2 was originally discovered as an inhibitor to HIV-1 infection in the absence of Vpu, but it is also known to inhibit the release of other viruses such as the Lassa and Marburg virions. Interleukin-18 Binding Protein (IL18BP) serves as an inhibitor of the proinflammatory cytokine, IL18. IL18BP binds IL18, inhibits the binding of IL18 to its receptor, and consequently inhibits IL18-induced IFN-gamma production, resulting in reduced T-helper type 1 immune responses. The IL18BP protein is constitutively expressed and secreted in mononuclear cells. Elevated levels of IL18BP protein are detected in the intestinal tissues of patients with Crohn's disease.

FGFR1 oncogene partner (FGFR1OP) is a member of the FGFR1OP family. The FGFR1OP protein is an essentially hydrophilic protein proposed to be a leucine-rich protein family member. A t(6;8)(q27;p11) chromosomal translocation, fusing the FGFR1OP gene and the FGFR1 gene, is seen in cases of myeloproliferative disorder. The ensuing chimeric protein contains the N-terminal leucine-rich region of the FGFR1OP protein fused to the catalytic domain of FGFR1. The FGFR1OP gene is believed to play a significant role in normal proliferation and differentiation of the erythroid lineage.

Fibroblast Growth Factors (FGFs) comprise a family of at least eighteen structurally realted proteins that are involved in a multitude of physiological and pathological cellular processes, including cell growth, differentation, angiogenesis, wound healing and tumorgenesis. The biological activities of the FGFs are mediated by a family if type I transmembrane tyrosine kinases which undergo dimerization and autophosphorylation after ligand binding. A frequent splicing event involving FGFR-1 and -2 results in receptors containing all three Ig domains, referred to as the alpha isoform, or only IgII and IgIII, referred to as the ? isoform. Only the alpha isoform has been identified for FGFR-3 and FGFR-4. Additional splicing events for FGFR-1 to -3, involving the C-terminal half of the IgIII domain encoded by two mutually exclusive alternative exons, generate FGF receptors with alternative IgIII domains (IIIb and IIIc). A IIIa isoform which is a secreted FGF binding protein containing only the N-terminal half of the IgIII domain plus some intron sequences has also been reported for FGFR-1. Mutations in FGFR-1 to -3 have been found in patients with birth defects involving craniosynostosis.

Phosphoglycerate kinase 1, also referred to PGK1, is an X-linked enzyme whichfunctions in the glycolytic pathway.The gene encoding the erythrocyte enzyme PGK1 & it seems that PGK-1 plays a role as a polymerase alpha cofactor protein (primer recognition protein) as a glyxolytic enzyme role. The PGK1 catalyzes the reversible conversion of 1, 3-diphosphoglycerate to 3-phosphoglycerate during glycolysis, generating one molecule of ATP.

Cadherin-2 isoform 1, also known as CDH2 is a transmembrane, homophilic glycoprotein which belongs to the calcium-dependent cell adhesion molecule family. CDH2 takes part in neurons and later on was discovered to participate in cardiac muscle and in cancer metastasis as well. The CDH2 loss promotes tumorigenesis through releasing membrane-bound β-catenin, and so stimulating Wnt signaling. Furthermore, CDH2 appears to be implicated in tumor development, however this discovery is limited in adrenocortical tumors-ACTs.

Protein Kinase IFN Double Stranded RNA Activator, also known as PRKRA, mediates the effects of interferon when a viral infection takes place. PRKRA activates EIF2AK2/PKR in the absence of double-stranded RNA (dsRNA) and leads to phosphorylation of EIF2S1/EFI2-alpha and inhibition of translation and induction of apoptosis. Mutations in PRKRA are associated with dystonia.

Cell Growth Regulator with EF-Hand Domain 1, also known as CGREF1 is a secreted calcium ion binding protein. CGREF1 includes two EF-hand domains & both EF-hands are essential for function. CGREF1 is most likely digested extracellularly by an unfamiliar serine protease generating extremely hydrophobic bioactive peptides. CGREF1 mediates cell-cell adhesion in a calcium-dependent manner. In addition, CGREF1 is capable to inhibit growth in more than a few cell lines.
