CRNN is part of the "fused gene" family of proteins, which enclose N-terminus EF-hand domains and multiple tandem peptide repeats. CRNN contains two EF-hand Ca2+ binding domains in its N-terminus and two glutamine- and threonine-rich 60 amino acid repeats in its C-terminus. CRNN, also known as SEP53, which participates in the mucosal/epithelial immune response and epidermal differentiation. CRNN is a survival factor that participates in the clonogenicity of squamous esophageal epithelium cell lines, attenuates deoxycholic acid (DCA)-induced apoptotic cell death and discharge of calcium. When CRNN is over expressed in oral squamous carcinoma cell lines, it regulates negatively cell proliferation by the induction of G1 arrest.

Replication Protein A2 (RPA2) is a single stranded DNA binding protein. Human RPA2 is a heterotrimeric protein containing subunits of 14, 32 and 70kDa. Calnexin (CANX) belongs to the calnexin family of molecular chaperones. Calnexin is a calcium-binding, ER-associated protein that interacts briefly with newly synthesized N-linked glycoproteins, facilitating protein folding and assembly. Calnexin may also have a key role in the quality control of protein folding by retaining incorrectly folded protein subunits within the ER for degradation. MICB (MHC class I chain-related gene B) is a transmembrane glycoprotein that functions as a ligand for human NKG2D type II receptor. Microfibrillar-associated protein 4 (MFAP4) is a member of Fibrinogen protein family and contains 1 fibrinogen C-terminal domain. The MFAP4 protein has similarity to a bovine microfibril-associated protein. MFAP4 has binding specificities for both collagen and carbohydrate. MFAP4 is believed to be an extracellular matrix protein that is involved in cell adhesion or intercellular interactions. MFAP4 deletion was found in 30 of 31 Smith-Magenis syndrome (SMS) patients.

IL10 is a cytokine produced primarily by monocytes and to a lesser extent by lymphocytes. This cytokine has pleiotropic effects in immunoregulation and inflammation. It down-regulates the expression of Th1 cytokines, MHC class II Ags, and costimulatory molecules on macrophages. It also enhances B cell survival, proliferation, and antibody production. FXYD domain-containing ion transport regulator 5 (FXYD5) is a cancer-associated cell membrane glycoprotein which is a part of the FXYD family. BATF is a nuclear basic leucine zipper protein which is a member of the AP-1/ATF superfamily of transcription factors.
