Brain Abundant Membrane Attached Signal Protein 1 (BASP1) is a membrane bound protein with numerous transient phosphorylation positions and PEST motifs. Preservation of proteins with PEST sequences amongst diverse species supports their functional significance. PEST sequences take place in proteins with high turnover rates. Immunological attributes of this protein are species specific. BASP1 undergoes N-terminal myristoylation.

Cyclin B1 (CCNB1) is a regulatory protein involved in mitosis. CCNB1 creates a complex with p34(cdc2) to form the maturation-promoting factor (MPF). CCNB1 is vital for the control of the cell cycle at the G2/M (mitosis) transition. CCNB1 builds up steadily during the G2 and is immediately destroyed at mitosis. The 2 alternative transcripts produce a constitutively expressed transcript and a cell cycle-regulated transcript which is expressed predominantly during G2/M phase. These transcripts are a result of alternate transcription initiation sites.

Iron-sulfur cluster assembly enzyme (ISCU) belongs to the nifU family. Iron-sulfur (Fe-S) clusters are required for several mitochondrial enzymes and other subcellular compartment proteins. ISCU interacts with ISCS (a cysteine desulfurase) to sequester inorganic sulfur for Fe-S cluster assembly. The ISCU-ISCS protein complex localizes in both mitochondria and cytosol, implying that Fe-S cluster assembly occurs in multiple subcellular compartments in mammalian cells.

Ubiquitin D (UBD) is an ubiquitin-like modifier (UBL) of the ubiquitin protein family. UBD is an ubiquitin-like protein which can form covalent conjugates, thus targeting proteins for degradation by the 26S proteasome. It is assumed that, UBD has roles in regulation of cell cycle, innate immunity, and apoptosis. UBD is a TNF-a inducible ubiquitin-like protein with a presumed role in the immune response.

MAGEA6 belongs to the MAGEA family, which directs the expression of tumor antigens which are seen on a human melanoma by autologous cytolytic T lymphocytes (CTL). Members of the MAGEA family encode proteins with 50 to 80% sequence identity to each other. The MAGE genes, which are clustered at chromosomal location Xq28, were originally isolated from separate kinds of tumors, and based on their practically exclusive tumor-specific expression in adult tissues; they are objects for cancer immunotherapy. MAGEA genes’ promoters and first exons exhibit substantial variability, implying that the existence of the MAGEA gene family enables the same function to be expressed under different transcriptional controls. Regulatory Factor X-Associated Ankyrin-Containing Protein (RFXANK) contains ankyrin repeats involved in protein-protein interactions. RFXANK, along with regulatory factor X-associated protein and regulatory factor-5, figures a complex which binds to the X box motif of certain MHC class II gene promoters and activates their transcription. After bound to the promoter, this complex associates with the non-DNA-binding factor MHC class II transactivator, which controls the cell type specificity and inducibility of MHC class II gene expression. Mutations in RFXANK have been linked to bare lymphocyte syndrome type II, complementation group B.

Eotaxin-2, also called MPIF2 & Ckb6, is a novel CC chemokine produced by activated monocytes and T lymphocytes. Eotaxin-2 selectively chemoattracts cells expressing CCR3 including eosinophils, basophils, Th2 T cells, mast cells, and certain subsets of dendritic cells. Furthermore, Eotaxin-2 inhibits the proliferation of multipotential hematopoietic progenitor cells. The mature protein, which includes C-terminal truncation, contains 78 amino acids (92 amino acids for the mouse homolog, without C-terminal truncation).

Stem cell factor / KIT ligand (SCF) is a cytokine which binds CD117(c-Kit). SCF is also known as "steel factor" or "c-kit ligand". SCF exists in two forms, cell surface bound SCF and soluble (or free) SCF. Soluble SCF is produced by the cleavage of surface bound SCF by metalloproteases. SCF is a growth factor important for the survival, proliferation, and differentiation of hematopoietic stem cells and other hematopoietic progenitor cells. Inhibins are dimeric peptide hormones produced by female ovarian granulose cells and male Sertoli cells as well as a variety of other tissues. Inhibins have two isoforms, A and B, with the same alpha subunit but different beta subunits. Inhibin A is a dimer of alpha and beta A subunits, inhibin B is a dimer of alpha and beta B subunits.
Inhibins are thought to inhibit the production of follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) by the pituitary gland. In addition, Inhibins are also thought to play a role in the control of gametogenesis, and embryonic and fetal development.
