AKR1A1 is part of the aldo/keto reductase superfamily, it catalyzes the NADPH-dependent reduction from a range of aromatic and aliphatic aldehydes to their related alcohols. Interleukin-8 (IL-8) is a chemokine produced by macrophages and other cell types such as epithelial cells. Tachykinin-1 (TAC1) belongs to the tachykinin peptide hormone family.
