Mesenchymal epithelial transition factor (c-MET) is a proto-oncogenic receptor tyrosine kinase. The endogenous ligand for c-MET is HGF (hepatocyte growth factor), which is a disulfide-linked heterodimeric molecule produced predominantly by mesenchymal cells. In the adult, c-MET protein expression is limited to stem and progenitor cells and is required for wound healing and hepatocyte regeneration. In the embryo, c-MET receptors are expressed on cells of epithelial origin, which are vital for invasive growth and mediate epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT). Abnormal activation of the HGF/MET pathway leads to a variety of cancers. c-MET mutation is linked with a poor prognosis since it can trigger tumor growth, angiogenesis and metastasis.

The MutS DNA Mismatch Protein Identifies heteroduplex DNAs comprising mis-paired or unpaired bases. The MutS DNA Mismatch Protein binds in vitro to heteroduplex DNAs comprising mis-paired or unpaired bases over a varied temperature range from 4-70 °C and obtains a thermostable ATPase activity. The MutS DNA Mismatch Protein is active at temperature between 0 to 75°C. Since The MutS DNA Mismatch Protein competently binds to 1-4 bases deletion (or insertion) and mismatch base pairs of GT, CT and AG, it is suitable for sensing these mutations. Mutations can be distinguished in polyacrylamide gels or on a solid phase such as Ni agarose or beads or magnetic Ni-NTA particles.

MCL1 is a member of the Bcl-2 family. MCL1 takes part in the control of apoptosis against cell existence, and in the preservation of viability but not of proliferation. Alternative splicing happens at this locus and two transcript variants encoding different isoforms are known. Isoform 1 is the longer gene product and it increases cell existence by inhibiting apoptosis. Isoform 2 is a shorter gene product which indorses apoptosis and is death-inducing.

RAC2 is a small signaling G protein/GTPase which is part of the RAS superfamily of small GTP-binding proteins which regulate cell growth, actin cytoskeletal organization, cell proliferation, survival, cell cycle progression, gene transcription rgulation and the activation of protein kinases. RAC2 cycles between an active gtp-bound and inactive gdp-bound state. In active state, RAC2 binds to a variety of effector proteins to regulate cellular responses, such as secretory processes, phagocytose of apoptotic cells and epithelial cell polarization. RAC2 is involved in the regulation of the nadph oxidase.

HSP104 is a molecular chaperone required for stress tolerance and for maintenance of [psi(+)] prions in the budding yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae. Hsp104 can protect yeast cells against high temperature and high concentration of ethanol but mutation studies have shown this protein is not required for normal growth. Hsp104 was cloned into an E. coli expression vector and was purified to apparent homogeneity by using conventional column chromatography techniques.

DEAD Box Protein 56 (DDX56) belongs to the DEAD box protein family. DEAD box proteins, categorized by the conserved motif Asp-Glu-Ala-Asp (DEAD), are putative RNA helicases. DEAD box proteins are implicated in several cellular processes involving alteration of RNA secondary structure such as translation initiation, nuclear and mitochondrial splicing, and ribosome and spliceosome assembly. Based upon their distribution patterns, certain members of this family are assumed to be involved in embryogenesis, spermatogenesis, and cellular growth and division. DDX56 exhibits ATPase activity in the presence of polynucleotides and associates with nucleoplasmic 65S preribosomal particles.

GCSF is a cytokine that controls the production, differentiation, and function of granulocytes. The active protein is found extracellularly. Three transcript variants encoding three different isoforms have been found for this gene. Granulocyte/macrophage colony-stimulating factors are cytokines that act in hematopoiesis by controlling the production, differentiation, and function of 2 related white cell populations of the blood, the granulocytes and the monocytes-macrophages. This csf induces granulocytes.

COX Assembly Mitochondrial Protein 1(CMC1) is a member of the CMC family. CMC1 is required for mitochondrial cytochrome c oxidase (COX) assembly and respiration. CMC1 attaches copper and might be involved in copper trafficking and distribution to COX and SOD1.

BIRC7 is a part of the inhibitor of apoptosis protein (IAP) family and contains a single copy of a baculovirus IAP repeat (BIR) as well as a RING-type zinc finger domain. The BIR domain is necessary for inhibitory activity & cooperates with caspases, while the RING finger domain sometimes increases anti-apoptotic activity but doesn’t inhibit apoptosis by itself. 2 transcript variants encoding diverse isoforms have been found for this gene. The 2 isoforms have dissimilar antiapoptotic characteristics, with isoform a protecting cells from apoptosis induced by staurosporine and isoform b defending cells from apoptosis induced by etoposide.
BIRC7 has direct contact with several caspases together with caspase-3, caspase-7, & caspase –9. BIRC7 inhibits the activation of caspase-9 induced by Apaf-1, cytochrome c, and dATP.

Enfuvirtide also called human immunodeficiency fusion inhibitor blocks HIV’s ability to infect healthy CD4 cells. It can reduce the amount of HIV in the blood and increase the number of CD4 cells. Enfuvirtide operates by disrupting the HIV-1 molecular machinery at the final phase of fusion with the target cell, preventing uninfected cells from becoming infected. Enfuvirtide mimics components of the HIV-1 fusion apparatus and displace them, preventing normal fusion. HIV attaches to the host CD4+ cell receptor using the viral protein GP120; upon binding, GP120 deforms allowing the viral protein GP41 to insert itself into the host cell's plasma membrane. Entry inhibitors bind to GP41 preventing the formation of an entry pore for the capsid of the virus, keeping it out of the cell.

Janus Kinase 2 (JAK2) is a protein tyrosine kinase which takes part in a specific subset of cytokine receptor signaling pathways such as cell growth, development, differentiation or histone modifications. JAK2 is linked with the prolactin receptor and is necessary for responses to gamma IFN. T cell immunoreceptor with Ig and ITIM domains or TIGIT, is an immune receptor located on part of T cells and Natural Killer Cells(NK). TIGIT is also known as Vstm3 and WUCAM. The receptor can bind with high affinity to dendritic cells(DCs), CD155(PVR) on macrophages, etc., and it can bind with lower affinity to CD112(PVRL2). TIGIT can inhibit the cytotoxicity of Natural Killer Cells through its ITIM domain via antibodies against the interaction with PVR and the activity is directed. It has been show on research that TIGIT-Fc fusion molecule can have interaction with PVR on dendritic cells and elevate its IL-10 secretion level or lower the secretion on IL-12 under the stimulation of LPS, moreover, it can inhibit the activation of T cell in vivo.

TXNL4A is a member of the Dim protein family and has a vital part in pre-mRNA splicing. As a result of a failure to express early zygotic transcripts, deletion of the gene encoding TXNL4A in Schizosaccharomyces pombe results in embryonal lethality during gastrulation. STOM is a membrane protein involved in regulation of monovalent cation transport through lipid membranes which regulates ACCN1 and ACCN3 gating. Yersinia enterocolitica is a Gram-negative bacillus-shaped bacterium, which is a member of the Enterobacteriaceae family. Y.Enterocolitica is motile at temperatures between 22-29°C, however becomes non-motile at normal human body temperature. Y. Enterocolitica infection causes the yersiniosis disease, which is an animal-borne disease occurring in humans, as well as in a various groups of animals such as cattle, deer, pigs, and birds. Yersinia enterocolitica is a heterogeneous group of strains, which are conventionally classified by bio-typing into six bio-groups on the basis of phenotypic characteristics, and by serotyping into more than 57 “O” serogroups, on the basis of their O (lipopolysaccharide or LPS) surface antigen. Five of the six biogroups (1B and 2–5) are considered as pathogens. Nevertheless, only a few of these serogroups have been linked with disease in either humans or animals. Strains which belong to serogroups O:3 (biogroup 4), O:5,27 (biogroups 2 and 3), O:8 (biogroup 1B), and O:9 (biogroup 2) are most frequently isolated worldwide from human samples. Still, the main Y. enterocolitica serogroup in many European countries is serogroup O:3 followed by O:9, whereas the serogroup O:8 is mostly detected in the United States.

TMEFF1 is a type I transmembrane glycoprotein which includes 2 follistatin modules and an EGF domain in its extracellular domain, a transmembrane domain and a short cytoplasmic tail. The extracellular domain of TMEFF1 can be released as a soluble protein. TMEFF1 is primarily expressed in brain, but is downregulated in brain neoplasms. TMEFF1 selectively regulates nodal but not activin signaling through direct binding to the nodal co-receptor, Cripto. TMEFF inhibits NODAL and BMP signaling through neural patterning and also a possible tumor suppressor in brain cancers.
