ARL5A is a member of the ARF family of GTP-binding proteins. ARFs are vital in eukaryotic vesicular trafficking pathways and have a crucial part in the activation of phospholipase D. Different from ARF family members, ARL5 is believed to lack ADP-ribosylation enhancing activity. ARL5A is developmentally regulated and has a role in nuclear dynamics and signaling cascades during embryonic development.

ERP27 doesn’t contain a CXXC active site motif indicating that it is a catalytically redox-inactive member of the protein disulfide isomerase family.

EXOSC10 is a nucleolar protein and represents one crucial component of the so-called "PM/Scl complex" or "nuclear exosome", which is an RNA-processing complex consisting of a number of exoribonucleases (not to be confused with certain multivesicular bodies which are shed by cultured cells into the culture fluid and are also called exosomes).
Autoantibodies against EXOSC10 occur in patients suffering from polymyositis, scleroderma or polymyositis/scleroderma overlap syndromes. While antibodies to other components of the exosome complex (PM/Scl 75, several Rrp proteins) can be found in some sera, practically all patients with autoantibodies against the PM/Scl complex are positive for EXOSC10 antibodies, making this specificity an important marker. The presence of EXOSC10 autoantibodies is a comparatively "good" prognostic sign in polymyositis/scleroderma overlap syndrome unlike the poor prognosis seen when other myositis and systemic sclerosis specific autoantibodies are present.

TICAM2 belongs to the Toll/interleukin-1 receptor (TIR) family, a group of proteins which include the Toll-like receptors (TLRs). CEACAM1 is a cell adhesion protein which mediates homophilic cell adhesion in a calcium-independent way. CEACAM1 is a surface glycoprotein expressed on various blood cells, epithelial cells, and vascular cells. CEACAM1 functions as coinhibitory receptor in immune response, and plays a role also as an activator during angiogenesis.

GSK3B is a serine-threonine kinase that belongs to the glycogen synthase kinase subfamily. GSK3B is involved in energy metabolism, neuronal cell development, and body pattern formation. COMM domain-containing protein 9 (COMMD9), is a part of the COMMD family. The COMMD family is a group of evolutionary conserved proteins that share a common COMM domain at their extreme C-terminus, which provides an interface for protein-protein interactions. COMMD9 is a 198 amino acid ubiquitously expressed protein which contains one COMM domain and involved in signaling events all over the cell.

CD40L or CD154 is a membrane glycoprotein and differentiation antigen expressed on the surface of T-cells. ADP-ribosylation factor-like protein 5B (ARL5B) is a member of a family of proteins which are structurally similar to ADP-ribosylation factors. ARLs and ARFs belong to the RAS superfamily of regulatory GTPases. ARL5B is most closely related to ARL5, with which it shares 80% sequence identity. Furthermore, Human ARL5B shares 100% identity with mouse ARL8 and 71% identity with the Drosophila homolog.

ARPC5 is a 151 amino acid subunit of the Arp2/3 complex. ARPC5 is believed to have a role in maintaining the integrity of Arp2/3. ARPC5 is a substrate for MAPKAPK-2 which, via phosphorylation of ARPC5, may participate in Arp2/3 regulatory functions and remodeling of the Actin cytoskeleton.
