    • Introduction

ENO3 is one of three enolase isoenzymes in mammals. The homodimer ENO3 is located in skeletal muscle cells of adults and has a part in converting phosphoglyceric acid to phosphenolpyruvic acid in the glycolytic pathway. Mutations in ENO3 gene is linked to metabolic myopathies which is caused by low stability of the enzyme.

    • Introduction

Fetuin is a liver-produced negative acute phase protein composed of two subunits, the A and B chains.
Fetuin homologs have been identified in several species including rat, sheep, pig, rabbit, guinea pig, cattle, mouse and human. Multiple physiological roles for these homologs have been suggested, including ability to bind to hydroxyapatite crystals and to specifically inhibit the tyrosine kinase (TK) activity of the receptor (IR).
Fetuin-A (alpha2-Heremans-Schmid glycoprotein; AHSG) is an important circulating inhibitor of calcification in vivo, and is downregulated during the acute-phase response.
Sera from patients on long-term dialysis with low AHSG concentrations showed impaired ex-vivo capacity to inhibit CaxPO4 precipitation.
Fetuin may influence the resolution of inflammation by modulating the phagocytosis of apoptotic cells by macrophages.
ASHG blocks TGF-beta-dependent signaling in osteoblastic cells, and mice lacking ASHG display growth plate defects, increased bone formation with age, and enhanced cytokine-dependent osteogenesis.

    • Synonyms

      Alpha-2-HS-glycoprotein, Fetuin-A, Alpha-2-Z-globulin, Ba-alpha-2-glycoprotein, AHSG, FETUA, AHS, A2HS, HSGA, PRO2743.

    • Physical Appearance

Sterile Filtered White lyophilized (freeze-dried) powder.

    • Stability

Lyophilized AHSG although stable at room temperature for 3 weeks, should be stored desiccated below -18°C. Upon reconstitution AHSG should be stored at 4°C between 2-7 days and for future use below -18°C. Please prevent freeze-thaw cycles.

    • Solubility

It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized AHSG in 1xPBS to a concentration no less than 100 µg/ml, which can then be further diluted to other aqueous solutions.

    • Introduction

Neudesin Neurotrophic Factor (NENF) is a member of the cytochrome b5 family, MAPR subfamily. NENF contains 1 cytochrome b5 heme-binding domain. NENF exhibits neurotrophic activity and activates phosphorylation of MAPK1/ERK2, MAPK3/ERK1 and AKT1/AKT in primary cultured neurons. NENF doesn’t have mitogenic activity in primary cultured astrocytes. NENF may play a part in neuronal differentiation and may have a transient influence on neural cell proliferation in neural precursor cells. NENF neurotrophic activity is increased by binding to heme. NENF is up-regulated in immortal cells and induced in estrogen receptor positive breast cancer expressing progesterone receptor.

    • Synonyms

Neudesin, Cell immortalization-related protein 2, Neuron-derived neurotrophic factor, Secreted protein of unknown function, SPUF protein, NENF, CIR2, SPUF, SCIRP10.

    • Physical Appearance

      Filtered White lyophilized (freeze-dried) powder.

    • Stability

Store lyophilized protein at -20°C. Aliquot the product after reconstitution to avoid repeated freezing/thawing cycles. Reconstituted protein can be stored at 4°C for a limited period of time; it does not show any change after two weeks at 4°C.

    • Introduction

Chemokine (C-C motif) ligand 2 (CCL2) is a small cytokine belongs to the CC chemokine family which is also known as monocyte chemotactic protein-1 (MCP-1). MCP 1 is found at the site of tooth eruption and bone degradation. In the bone, CCL2 is expressed by mature osteoclasts. CCL2 recruits immune cells, such as monocytes, to sites of tissue injury and infection. MCP 1is produced as a protein precursor containing signal peptide of 23 amino acids and a mature peptide of 76 amino acids. As with many other CC chemokines, CCL2 is located on chromosome 17 in humans. The cell surface receptors that bind CCL2 are CCR2 and CCR5.

Neuron-specificenolase also caled NSE is a glycolytic isoenzyme which is situated in central and peripheral neurons and neuroendocrine cells. Enolase-2 is released into the CSF when neural tissue is injured. Neoplasms derived from neural or neuroendocrine tissue release Enolase-2 into the blood. Enolase-2 is a useful substance that has been detected in patients with certain tumors, such as neuroblastoma, small cell lung cancer, medullary thyroid cancer, carcinoid tumors, pancreatic endocrine tumors, and melanoma. ENO2 is 1 of the 3 enolase isoenzymes found in mammals. ENO2 isoenzyme, is found in mature neurons and cells of neuronal origin. • Introduction

Human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) is a retrovirus that can lead to a condition in which the immune system begins to fail, leading to opportunistic infections. HIV primarily infects vital cells in the human immune system such as helper T cells (specifically CD4+ T cells), macrophages and dendritic cells. HIV infection leads to low levels of CD4+ T cells through three main mechanisms: firstly, direct viral killing of infected cells; secondly, increased rates of apoptosis in infected cells; and thirdly, killing of infected CD4+ T cells by CD8 cytotoxic lymphocytes that recognize infected cells. When CD4+ T cell numbers decline below a critical level, cell-mediated immunity is lost, and the body becomes progressively more susceptible to opportunistic infections. HIV was classified as a member of the genus Lentivirus, part of the family of Retroviridae. Lentiviruses have many common morphologies and biological properties. Many species are infected by lentiviruses, which are charact

    • Introduction

NCS1 is part of the neuronal calcium sensor gene family, which encode calcium-binding proteins expressed primarily in neurons. NCS1 regulates G protein-coupled receptor phosphorylation in a calcium-dependent manner and can substitute for calmodulin. NCS1 is related with secretory granules and modulates synaptic transmission and synaptic plasticity. NCS1 regulates GRK1 and substitutes for calmodulin. NCS1 stimulates PI4KB kinase activity and participates in long-term synaptic plasticity through its interaction with PICK1. NCS1 takes part in neuron differentiation through inhibition of the activity of N-type voltage-gated calcium channel.

    • Introduction

Eukaryotic initiation factor 4A-III (EIF4A3) is a member of the DEAD box helicase family and eIF4A subfamily. DEAD box proteins, distinguished by the conserved motif Asp-Glu-Ala-Asp (DEAD), are putative RNA helicases. These proteins are involved in several cellular processes including alteration of RNA secondary structure, such as translation initiation, nuclear and mitochondrial splicing, and ribosome and spliceosome assembly. EIF4A3 is a part of a splicing-dependent multiprotein exon junction complex (EJC) accumulated at splice junction on mRNAs. Based upon their distribution patterns, some members of the DEAD box helicase family are thought to be involved in embryogenesis, spermatogenesis, and cellular growth and division.
