    • Introduction

Lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) is an enzyme(EC1.1.1.27) present in a wide variety of organisms, including plants and animals.
A tetrameric enzyme that catalyses the interconversion of pyruvateand lactate with concomitant interconversion of NADH and NAD+. At high concentrations of pyruvate, the enzyme exhibits feedback inhibition and the rate of conversion of pyruvate to lactate is decreased. In vertebrates, genes for three different subunits (LDH-A, LDH-B and LDH-C) exist.

    • Synonyms

      L-lactate dehydrogenase B chain, LDH-B, LDH heart subunit, LDH-H, Ldh-2, Ldh2, Ldhb.

    • Introduction

F-ATPase delta (ATP5D) catalyzes ATP synthesis, employing an electrochemical gradient of protons across the inner membrane during oxidative phosphorylation. ATP synthase is composed of 2 linked multi-subunit complexes: F1-the soluble catalytic core and Fo- the membrane-spanning component, which comprise the proton channel. The catalytic portion of mitochondrial ATP synthase consists of five different subunits (alpha, beta, gamma, delta, and epsilon) assembled with a stoichiometry of 3 alphas, 3 betas, and a single representative of the other three. The proton channel consists of three main subunits-a, b, c. ATP5D is the delta subunit of the catalytic core.

    • Synonyms

ATP synthase subunit delta mitochondrial, F-ATPase delta subunit, ATP5D.

    • Physical Appearance

      Sterile filtered colorless solution.

    • Stability

ATP5D Human Recombinant although stable at 4°C for 1 week, should be stored below -18°C. Please prevent freeze thaw cycles.

    • Introduction

Protein modification with ubiquitin is an essential cellular mechanism for targeting abnormal or short-lived proteins for degradation. Ubiquitination involves at least 3 classes of enzymes: ubiquitin-activating enzymes (E1s) ubiquitin-conjugating enzymes (E2s) and ubiquitin-protein ligases (E3s). Ubiquitin-Conjugating Enzyme E2G (UBE2G1) belongs to the E2 ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme family and catalyzes the covalent attachment of ubiquitin to other proteins. UE2G1 protein is involved in degradation of muscle-specific proteins.

    • Introduction

Prostatic acid phosphatase, also known as PAP, is an enzyme produced by the prostate. PAP may be found in increased amounts in men with prostate cancer.
PAP’s physiological function may be associated with the liquefaction process of semen.
The highest levels of PAP are found in metastasized prostate cancer. Diseases of the bone, such as Paget's disease or hyperparathyroidism, diseases of blood cells (sickle-cell disease) or multiple myeloma or lysosomal storage diseases (Gaucher's disease), will show moderately higher levels.
Certain medications can cause temporary changes in PAP levels. Manipulation of the prostate gland through rectal exam, biopsy or massage may increase the level.

    • Introduction

Glycerol dehydrogenase (GldA) catalyzes the NAD-dependent oxidation of glycerol to dihydroxyacetone (glycerone). The GldA protein allows microorganisms to use glycerol as a source of carbon under anaerobic conditions. Furthermore, in E.coli GldA has an imperative role by regulating the intracellular level of dihydroxyacetone by catalyzing the reverse reaction, i.e. the conversion of dihydroxyacetone into glycerol. GldA possesses an extensive substrate specificity, due to its ability to oxidize 1,2-propanediol and to reduce glycolaldehyde, methylglyoxal and hydroxyacetone into ethylene glycol, lactaldehyde and 1,2-propanediol, respectively.

    • Introduction

Phosphomannomutase 1 (PMM1) is an enzyme involved in the synthesis of the GDP-mannose and dolichol-phosphate-mannose required for a number of critical mannosyl transfer reactions. PMM1 catalyzes the conversion between D-mannose 6-phosphate and D-mannose 1-phosphate which is a substrate for GDP-mannose synthesis. GDP-mannose is used for the synthesis of dolichol-phosphate-mannose, which is crucial for N-linked glycosylation and accordingly the secretion of several glycoproteins as well as for the synthesis of glycosyl-phosphatidyl-inositol (GPI) anchored proteins. Additionally, PMM1 may be responsible for the degradation of glucose-1,6-bisphosphate in ischemic brain.

    • Introduction

Aspartic Peptidase, Retroviral-Like 1 (ASPRV1) is a protein which contains one peptidase A2 domain. ASPRV1 undergoes autocleavage which is essential for activation of the protein. ASPRV1 is expressed mostly in the granular layer of the epidermis and inner root sheath of hair follicles and localized to membrane region. In the psoriatic skin, ASPRV1 is expressed throughout the stratum corneum. In the ulcerated skin, ASPRV1 is expressed in the stratum granulosum of intact epidermis; however it is virtually nonexistent from ulcerated regions. In addition, ASPRV1 is expressed in differentiated areas of squamous cell carcinomas but not in the undifferentiated tumors.

    • Introduction

Catalase (CAT) is a key antioxidant enzyme in the body’s defense against oxidative stress. Furthermore, Catalase is a heme enzyme which is present in the peroxisome of virtually all aerobic cells. Catalase converts the reactive oxygen species hydrogen peroxide to water and oxygen and thus diminishes the toxic effects of hydrogen peroxide. Catalase stimulates growth of cells including T-cells, B-cells, myeloid leukemia cells, melanoma cells, mastocytoma cells and normal and transformed fibroblast cells. Catalase gene polymorphisms are linked with decreases in catalase activity nevertheless, to date, acatalasemia is the only disease known to be caused by the CAT gene.
