RAP2A belongs to the RAS oncogene family and a Ras-like small G protein. The RAP2A protein shares 60% identity with Rap1A and exhibits a carboxy-terminal CAAX motif and 2 upstream cysteines similar to those of the H-Ras, K-Ras and N-Ras proteins. In contrast with Rap1A and Rap1B, overexpression of RAP2A doesn’t obstruct the Ras signaling pathway.

Snail homolog 1 (SNAI1) is involved in induction of the epithelial to mesenchymal transition (EMT), formation and maintenance of embryonic mesoderm, growth arrest, survival and cell migration. SNAI1 binds to 3 E-boxes of the E-cadherin gene promoter and represses its transcription. Vps20-associated 1 homolog (VTA1) is a member of the VTA1 family. The VTA1 protein is involved in the endosomal multivesicular bodies (MVB) pathway. Furthermore, VTA1 is interacts with CHMP1B, CHMP2A, CHMP5, VPS4B, KIAA0174 (IST1) and possibly CHMP3. NAGK is a member of the eukaryotic-type N-acetylglucosamine kinase family. NAGK converts endogenous N-acetylglucosamine (GlcNAc), a key component of complex carbohydrates, from lysosomal degradation or alimentary sources into GlcNAc 6-phosphate. TREM1 is expressed at low levels in the early development of the hematopoietic system and in the promonocytic stage and at high levels in mature monocytes.
