Hepatocyte Growth Factor (HGF) is a multifunctional growth factor which regulates both cell growth and cell motility. It exerts a strong mitogenic effect on hepatocytes and primary epithelial cells. HGF synergizes with Interleukin-3 and GM-CSF to stimulate colony formation of hematopoietic progenitor cells in vitro and may, therefore, also modulate hematopoiesis.

Cyclophilin-G is a member of the peptidyl-prolyl cis-trans isomerase (PPIase) family. PPIases catalyze the cis-trans isomerization of proline imidic peptide bonds in oligopeptides and speeds up the protein folding. PPIG catalyzes the cis-trans isomerization of proline imidic peptide bonds in oligopeptides and is involved in the folding, transport, and assembly of proteins. PPIG is localized to the nuclear speckles, a nuclear compartment rich in splicing factors, and cooperates with the splicing factors SC35 and pinin. Cyclophilin-G also takes part in the regulation of pre-mRNA splicing.

MYL7 protein is an atrial isoform of myosin regulatory light chain 2 (MYL2). Myosin is a hexamer containing 4 light chains and 2 heavy chains. MYL7 is mainly expressed in adult atrial muscle.

Inhibitor of DNA Binding 2 (ID2) is a part of the inhibitor of DNA binding family, whose members are transcriptional regulators that contain a helix-loop-helix (HLH) domain but not a basic domain. Members of the ID family inhibit the functions of basic helix-loop-helix transcription factors in a dominant-negative way by suppressing their heterodimerization partners through the HLH domains. BATF is a nuclear basic leucine zipper protein which is a member of the AP-1/ATF superfamily of transcription factors. C/EBP family consist of several related proteins, C/EBP a,b,g,d, that form homodimers and that form heterodimers with each other. C/EBP proteins contain the bZIP region, which is characterized by two motifs in the C-terminal half of the protein; a basic region involved in DNA binding and a leucine zipper motif involved in dimerization. C/EBPs differ significantly in their physiological functions and in their downstream target genes. For example, mice lacking C/EBPa die shortly after birth due to severe hypoglycemia and the absence of glycogen storage in liver, whereas knockout of C/EBPb causes defects in female reproduction.
