Methionine aminopeptidase 1 (METAP1) is a member of the peptidase M24A family. METAP1 removes the amino-terminal methionine from nascent proteins. METAP1 releases N-terminal amino acids, preferentially methionine, from peptides and arylamides. METAP1 is essential for normal progression through the cell cycle. The active site of METAP1 contains 2 adjacent divalent metal ions linked by a water molecule or hydroxide ion.

Alcohol dehydrogenase 6 (ADH6) belongs to the alcohol dehydrogenase family. Alcohol dehydrogenase family members metabolize a wide variety of substrates, including ethanol, retinol, other aliphatic alcohols, hydroxysteroids, and lipid peroxidation products. ADH6 is expressed in the stomach as well as in the liver, and it contains a glucocorticoid response element upstream of its 5’ UTR, which is a steroid hormone receptor binding site.

ADP-ribosylhydrolase like 2 (ADPRHL2) belongs to the ADP-ribosylglycohydrolase family. ADPRHL2 catalyzes the removal of ADP-ribose from ADP-ribosylated proteins. ADPRHL2, which is ubiquitously expressed, uses magnesium as a cofactor to catalyze the hydrolysis of poly (ADP-ribose) that is synthesized after DNA damage. Furthermore, ADPRHL2 has an essential role in the maintenance of normal neuronal cell function. The ADPRHL2 enzyme localizes to the mitochondria, in addition to the nucleus and cytoplasm.

Peptidyl-prolyl cis-trans isomerase F, mitochondrial (Cyclophilin-F) accelerates the folding of proteins. Cyclophilin-F catalyzes the cis-trans isomerization of proline imidic peptide bonds in oligopeptides and involved in regulation of the mitochondrial permeability transition pore (mPTP). Cyclophilin-F, in cooperation with mitochondrial TP53, is involved in activating oxidative stress-induced necrosis. Dehydrogenase/reductase SDR family member 8 (HSD17B11) is a member of the HSD17B family of proteins, which regulate the availability of steroids within various tissues throughout the body. HSD17B11 is widely expressed with the highest levels found in the retina, pancreas, kidney, liver, lung, adrenal, small intestine, ovary and heart as well as in steroidogenic cells. HSD17B11 converts androstan-3-?,17-?-diol (3-?-diol) to androsterone, suggesting it may participate in androgen metabolism during steroidogenesis.

Dual specificity phosphatase 18 (DUSP18) belongs to the dual-specificity phosphatase (DSP) family, which catalyzes dephosphorylation of phosphotyrosine and phosphothreonine residues. NUDT5 is part of the nudix hydrolase family which remove toxic nucleotide derivatives from the cell. NUDT5 hydrolyzes ADP-ribose and ADP-mannose in the presence of magnesium, and in addition hydrolyzes nucleotide sugars with decreasing activity such as ADP-glucose and diadenosine diphosphate. As a nudix hydrolase, NUDT5 holds a central nudix motif and functions to eliminate toxic nucleotide metabolites from the cell while maintaining the levels of signaling nucleotides.
NUDT5 is broadly expressed but is most abundant in liver as a homodimer.

BPHL is a Serine hydrolase that is a part of the AB hydrolase superfamily which catalyzes the hydrolytic activation of amino acid ester prodrugs of nucleoside analogs. BPHL is expressed large quantities in liver and kidney and in minor quantities in heart, intestine and skeletal muscle. BPHL takes part in detoxification processes and is a specific alpha-amino acid ester hydrolase which favors small, hydrophobic, and aromatic side chains and does not have a strict necessity for the leaving group except for favoring a primary alcohol.

Glutathione synthetase (GSS) is the second enzyme in the glutathione biosynthesis pathway. GSS catalyses the condensation of gamma-glutamylcysteine and glycine to form glutathione.
