SH3-domain GRB2-like 2 (SH3GL2) is a member of the endophilin family. SH3GL2 contains a BAR domain and a SH3 domain. Members of the BAR domain protein superfamily are crucial elements of cellular traffic. Endophilins have a major function in synaptic vesicle endocytosis (SVE), receptor trafficking and apoptosis, and in other processes which require remodeling of the membrane structure. SH3GL2 is a novel tumor suppressor gene in laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma (LSCC), which induces apoptosis of tumor cells by regulating intra-cellular signal transduction networks. SH3GL2 is implicated in synaptic vesicle endocytosis. SH3GL2 is found in the brain, mainly in frontal cortex, and at high level in the fetal cerebellum.

NFKBID belongs to the IkB family of proteins which contains four groups (IkB-alpha, IkB-beta, IkB-gamma, IkB-epsilon). NFKBID takes part in regulating inflammatory responses and cytokine, IL-2 and IL-6 expression through NFkB activity. NFKBID has 3 known alternative spliced isoforms, and is associated with RelB, NF?B p50 and NFkB p65 in nucleus. NFKBID is involeved in thymocyte selection in response to TCR induction.

Melanoregulin (MREG) takes part in membrane fusion and in regulating the biogenesis of disk membranes of photoreceptor rods. MREG is expressed in photoreceptor cells as two isoforms as a result of alternative splicing. MREG interacts with Peripherin-2, a photoreceptor specific tetraspanin protein which is required to preserve normal cell structure during the renewal process of membrane fusion. Moreover, MREG plays a part in the incorporation of pigments into hair.

Activity-regulated cytoskeleton-associated protein (ARC) takes part in the regulation of cell morphology and cytoskeletal organization and is required for consolidation of synaptic plasticity as well as formation of long-term memory. ARC regulates endocytosis of AMPA receptors in response to synaptic activity and is also required for homeostatic synaptic scaling of AMPA receptors. ARC is required in the stress fiber dynamics and cell migration.

ING1 is a nuclear protein which physically act together with the tumor suppressor protein TP53 and is a component of the p53 signaling pathway. In addition, Reduced expression and rearrangement of ING1 have been identified in various cancers. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been described for ING1.

CRCP is a ubiquitous coupling protein for the calcitonin gene-related peptide and adrenomedullin receptors. CRCP controls ligand sensitivity in several tissues and has DNA-directed RNA polymerase activity, catalytic activity and calcitonin receptor activity.

CDC34 takes part in the control of cell cycle and DNA replication. Cdc34 in association with different E3 complexes, including SCF, targets many different substrates for ubiquitination and degradation during cell division, signal transduction, and development. Cdc34 substrates that have been characterized include B-Myb, Wee1, MyoD, ATF5, p27Xic1, and p27Kip1. Additionally, substrates such as p21Cip1, E2F, cyclin E, and cyclin D are putative substrates of Cdc34 by virtue of their SCF requirement for proteolysis. Prohibitin (PHB) is an evolutionarily conserved gene that is ubiquitously expressed and which Mutations have been linked to sporadic breast cancer. PHB is thought to be a negative regulator of cell proliferation and may be a tumor suppressor. Prohibitin is expressed as two transcripts with changeable lengths of 3' untranslated region. The longer transcript is present at higher levels in proliferating tissues and cells, proposing that this longer 3' untranslated region functions as a trans-acting regulatory RNA.

Synaptotagmin V, (SYT5) is a member of synaptotagmin family, which is a family of type III membrane proteins characterized by cytoplasmic repeats related to protein kinase C regulatory (C2) domains that are considered to bind calcium. Synaptotagmins function as negative regulators of vesicle fusion, allowing fusion in the attendance of calcium, and as calcium receptors or sensor molecules. Among the diseases associated with SYT5 are labyrinthitis, and thyroiditis.

Jointly these subunits are composed of 4 RNA species and approximately 80 structurally differentproteins. RPS2 is a ribosomal protein which is a component of the 40S subunit. RPS2located in the cytoplasm. RPS2 shares sequence similarity with mouse LLRep3. RPS2 has been associated with diamond-blackfan anemia, and herpes simplex.

Ku antigen consists of two polypeptides (70 kDa and 80 kDa; the p80 subunit is occasionally called p86). The Ku heterodimer provides DNA-binding and regulatory functions to DNA-dependent protein kinase which is a central enzyme for DNA recombination processes in eucaryotic cells. The Ku protein plays important roles in multiple nuclear processes including DNA repair, V(D)J recombination, telomere maintenance, and the regulation of specific gene transcription.

Ribosomes are the organelles which catalyze protein synthesis, consist of a small 40S subunit and a large 60S subunit. RPS13 is located in the cytoplasm and contains multiple phosphorylated residues. Similar to other ribosomal proteins, Ribosomal Protein S13 exists as multiple processed pseudogenes which are scattered throughout the genome.

IHH belongs to the hedgehog family of secreted signaling molecules. Hedgehog proteins are vital regulators of various developmental processes including growth, patterning and morphogenesis. TPM4 is a member of the tropomyosin family. Ebolavirus (EVD) belongs to the Filoviridae family of proteins which is comprised of a single-strand, non-infectious RNA genome. EVD genome is about 19,000 base pairs long and covers 7 genes in the order 3'-UTR-NP-VP35-VP40-GP-VP30-VP24-L-5'-UTR. There are 4 different ebolaviruses such as: Zaire (EBO-Z), Sudan (EBO-S), Cote d’Ivoire (EBO-CI) and Reston (EBO-R) that differ in amino acid sequence and location of where the gene overlaps. Similar to filoviruses and ebolavirions, EVD is a filamentous element that could appear in 3 forms: shepherd's crook, U shape or a 6 shape. Ebolaviruses may be coiled, toroid, or branched. Most ebolavirions are 80nm wideand 14,000nm long.
