Core 1 Beta3-Gal-T1 also known as,C1GALT1 creates the common core 1 O-glycan structure, Gal-beta-1-3GalNAc-R, by the transfer of Gal from UDP-Gal to GalNAc-alpha-1-R. Core 1 is a precursor for lots of extended mucin-type O-glycans on cell surface and secreted glycoproteins. Studies in mice have shown that this gene takes a main role in angiogenesis, thrombopoiesis and kidney homeostasis.

Fibroblast growth factor 16 (FGF16) is a member of the large FGF family, whose members are heparin-binding growth factors with a core 120 amino acid (a.a.) FGF domain which allows for a common tertiary structure. Human FGF16 cDNA is a 207 aa precursor protein with one N-linked glycosylation site. FGF16 though lacking a typical signal peptide, is efficiently produced by mechanisms other than the classical protein secretion pathway. FGF16 is expressed in cardiac cells and is required for proper heart development. FGF16 gene mutation was also observed in individuals with metacarpal 4-5 fusion. FGF16 has an imperative role in the regulation of embryonic development, cell proliferation and cell differentiation, and is required for normal cardiomyocyte proliferation and heart development.

CCDC104 also known as coiled-coil domain-containing protein 104 is a 342 amino acid protein that exists as two alternatively spliced isoforms. CCDC104 undergoes post-translational phosphorylation following DNA damage, most likely by either ATR or ATM. Among the diseases associated with CCDC104 are pancreatic cancer, and pancreatitis.

TIMP2 belongs to the TIMP gene family. The proteins encoded by this gene family are natural inhibitors of the matrix metalloproteinases, a group of peptidases that take part in degradation of the extracellular matrix. Besides having an inhibitory role against metalloproteinases, the encoded protein has a exclusive part among TIMPfamily members in its capability to directly suppress the proliferation of endothelial cells. GGCT is a member of the family of transferases, specifically the aminoacyltransferases. Galectins are a family of animal lectins with an affinity for beta-galactosides. This family has at least 14 identified members. Galectins share similarities in the CRD (the carbohydrate recognition domain). Galectins are synthesized as cytosolic proteins. Though localized principally in the cytoplasm and lacking a classical signal peptide, galectins can also be stimulated to secretion by non-classical pathways or alternatively targeted to the nucleus. Galectins are involved in modulating cell-cell and cell-matrix interactions. Human Galectin-7 belongs to the prototypical Galectins containing a single CRD, which is initially identified in human epidermis as a monomer. The Galectin-7 expression is induced by tumor suppressor protein p53 and associated with apoptosis. Pregnancy Specific Beta-1-Glycoprotein 1 (PSG1) is a member of a subgroup of transcription factors which are phosphorylated upon binding to promoter sequences. PSGs belong to the carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) family and function as early biochemical markers of syncytiotrophoblast formation. Furthermore, PSG1 is assumed to mediate placental vascular morphogenesis by enhancing VEGF-A production and endothelial tube formation. PSG1 is a major product of the syncytiotrophoblast, reaching concentrations of 100- 290 mg/l at term in the serum of pregnant women.

Carbohydrate Sulfotransferase 3 (CHST3) belong to sulfotransferase 1 family which iincludes 14 enzymes that all members are Golgi-localized type II membrane proteins. These enzymes utilizes 3'-phospho-5'-adenylyl sulfate (PAPS) as sulfonate donor to catalyze the transfer of sulfate to position 6 of the N-acetylgalactosamine (GalNAc) residue of chondroitin. CHST3 can also sulfate Gal residues of keratan sulfate and Gal residues in sialyl N-acetyllactosamine (sialyl LacNAc) oligosaccharides. CHST3 is expressed in heart, placenta, skeletal muscle and pancreas. CHST3 takes part in maintenance of naive T-lymphocytes in the spleen.

Cardiotrophin-like cytokine factor 1 (CLCF1) is a member of the interleukin 6 family of cytokines, which are involved in cell signaling via phosphorylation of gp130. HSP40 protein contains the J-domain which controls interaction with the ATPase domain of DnaK.
