CD160 antigen (CD160) is a human natural killer (NK)-cell-activating receptor which is also expressed on T-cell subsets. CD160 is a tumor-specific antigen known to mediate cellular activation signals in CLL, and is a novel target for therapeutic manipulation and monitoring of minimal residual disease. CD160 was identified as a T cell coinhibitory molecule which interacts with the herpesvirus entry mediator (HVEM) on antigen-presenting cells to deliver a potent inhibitory signal to CD4(+) T cells. CD160 expression is strongly associated with peripheral blood NK cells and CD8 T lymphocytes with cytolytic effector activity. CD160 is expressed on all intestinal intraepithelial lymphocytes. CD160 has a broad specificity for binding to both classical and nonclassical MHC class I molecules.

TMED10, which has a GOLD domain, belongs to the EMP24/GP25L/p24 family. TMED10, a type I membrane protein is restricted to the plasma membrane and golgi cisternae and takes part in vesicular protein transferring. Additionally, TMED10 is a fragment of the heteromeric secretase complex and controls the complex's gamma- secretase activity without influencing its epsilon-secretase activity. Alterations in TMED10 are linked to early-onset familial Alzheimer's disease. TMED10 has a pseudogene on chromosome 8.

CD3-gamma polypeptide is encoded by CD3 Gamma (CD3G) which together with CD3-epsilon, -delta and -zeta, and the T-cell receptor alpha/beta and gamma/delta heterodimers, configures the T-cell receptor-CD3 complex. The T-cell receptor-CD3 complex takes part in coupling antigen recognition to numerous intracellular signal-transduction pathways. The genes encoding the epsilon, gamma and delta polypeptides are located in the same cluster on chromosome 11. Deficiencies in this gene are associated with T cell immunodeficiency.

CD4, a single chain transmembrane glycoprotein, is found on a T cell subset (helper/inducer) representing 45% of peripheral blood lymphocytes. It is also present on 80% of thymocytes and at a lower level on monocytes. It is involved in recognition of antigen presented along with MHC class II by APCs. It serves as receptor for HIV. Antibody to CD4 recognizes T-helper cells required for recognition of class II antigens. It reacts with ~60% of peripheral blood E rosette-positive (E+) cells while showing negligible reactivity with E- cells, monocytes, granulocytes, EBV-transformed B cell lines, and mouse splenocytes.

Galactose-1-Phosphate Uridylyltransferase (GALT) catalyzes the 2nd step of the “Leloir pathway” of galactose metabolism, specifically the conversion of UDP-glucose + galactose-1-phosphate to glucose-1-phosphate + UDP-galactose. The deficiency of the GALT enzyme results in typical galactosemia in humans and may be fatal in the newborn stage if lactose is not eliminated from the diet. Galactosemia pathophysiology has not been clearly defined.

CD59 is a cell surface glycoprotein which regulates complement-mediated cell lysis, and it is involved in lymphocyte signal transduction. CD59 is an effective inhibitor of the complement membrane attack complex, whereby it binds complement C8 and/or C9 during the compilation of this complex, thus inhibiting the incorporation of multiple copies of C9 into the complex, which is essential for osmolytic pore formation. In addition, CD59 has a role in signal transduction pathways in the activation of T cells. CD59 gene mutations cause CD59 deficiency, a disease resulting in hemolytic anemia and thrombosis, and which causes cerebral infarction.

Thioredoxin Reductase 3 Neighbor, also known as TXNRD3NB is expressed in pancreas, esophagus, bone marrow and keratinocytes. TXNRD3NB shares overlapping exons with TXNRD3. In addition the initiation codon is found in exon 3 of the TXNRD3IT1 gene.

Queuine TRNA-Ribosyltransferase 1 also known as QTRT1 is a member of the queuine tRNA-ribosyltransferase family. QTRT1 interacts with QTRTD1 to form an active queuine tRNA-ribosyltransferase. Furthermore, QTRT1 exchanges queuine for the guanine at the wobble position of tRNAs with GUN anticodons (tRNA-Asp, -Asn, -His and -Tyr), in this manner forming the hypermodified nucleoside queuosine (Q) (7-(((4,5-cis-dihydroxy-2-cyclopenten-1-yl)amino)methyl)-7-deazaguanosine).

Dual specificity mitogen-activated protein kinase kinase 3 (MAP2K3) is a dual specificity protein kinase which is a member of the MAP kinase kinase family. MAP2K3 is activated by mitogenic and environmental stress, and participates in the MAP kinase-mediated signaling cascade. MAP2K3 phosphorylates and consequently activates MAPK14/p38-MAPK.

Gankyrin consists of 7 ankyrin repeats and is structurally similar to I kappa Bs. Gankyrin acts as a regulatory subunit of the 26s proteasome which is involved in the atp-dependent degradation of ubiquitinated proteins. Gankyrin is involved in progression of esophageal squamous cell carcinoma. gankyrin plays an oncogenic role especially in early stages of human epatocarcinogenesis. Gankyrin binds to NF-kappaB and suppresses its activity at the transcription level by modulating acetylation through SIRT1. Structural comparison between Gankyrin & p16(INK4A) identified numerous residues of gankyrin that are potentially important for CDK4 binding.

TNFRSF17 is a type III membrane protein having 1 extracellular cysteine rich domain. Within the TNFRSF, it shares the highest homology with TACI. BCMA and TACI have both been shown to bind to APRIL and BAFF, members of the TNF ligand superfamily. BCMA expression has been found in immune organs. TNFRSF17 appears to be localized to the Golgi compartment. The binding of BCMA to APRIL or BAFF has been shown to stimulate IgM production in peripheral blood B cells and increase the survival of cultured B cells.

Glycerol dehydrogenase (GldA) catalyzes the NAD-dependent oxidation of glycerol to dihydroxyacetone (glycerone). The GldA protein allows microorganisms to use glycerol as a source of carbon under anaerobic conditions. Furthermore, in E.coli GldA has an imperative role by regulating the intracellular level of dihydroxyacetone by catalyzing the reverse reaction, i.e. the conversion of dihydroxyacetone into glycerol. GldA possesses an extensive substrate specificity, due to its ability to oxidize 1,2-propanediol and to reduce glycolaldehyde, methylglyoxal and hydroxyacetone into ethylene glycol, lactaldehyde and 1,2-propanediol, respectively.
