SEMA3C, also known as Semaphorin 3C, is a member of the semaphorin family 3 that are grouped into 8 major classes based on phylogenetic tree analyses and structure. Class 3 have an important function after traumatic central nervous system injuries. SEMA3C regulates neuronal and non-neuronal cells associated with the traumatic injury due to their presence in the scar tissue. SEMA3C is expressed in all somatic motor neurons, in cardiac neural crest cells during development and in lung buds. The SEMA3C functions are mediated through binding to the Plexin-D1 and Neuropilin 1 or Neuropilin 2 coreceptor complex. SEMA3C activates integrins in certain cells, so besides its repulsive activities, it also acts as a chemoattractant.

Myosin regulatory light chain 5 (MYL5) is a hexameric ATPase cellular motor protein. Myosin is comprised of 2 heavy chains, 2 nonphosphorylatable alkali light chains, and 2 phosphorylatable regulatory light chains. MYL5 is a regulatory light chain and is expressed in the fetal muscle and in the adult retina, cerebellum, and basal ganglia. The reconstitution of myosin with MYL5 or alkali light chain increases filament velocity to intermediate rates, and the re-addition of both classes of light chains fully reinstates the original sliding pace.

ANXA6 is part of the family of calcium-dependent membrane and phospholipid binding proteins. ANXA6 mediats the endosome aggregation and vesicle fusion in secreting epithelia during exocytosis. ANXA6 correlates with CD21. ANXA6 regulates the release of Ca(2+) from intracellular stores. Serum-and glucocorticoid-regulated kinase (SGK1) is a serine/threonine protein kinase and a member of the “AGC” subfamily, which includes protein kinases A, G, and C. HSPA8 is a heat-shock cognate protein that binds to nascent polypeptides to facilitate correct folding. Developmental pluripotency-associated 5 proteins (DPPA5) is a 116 amino acid protein, which localizes to the cytoplasm and contains one KH domain. DPPA5 is expressed in embryonic germ (EG), primordial germ (PG) and embryonic stem (ES) cells. DPPA5 has an imperative role in the maintenance of ES cell pluripotency and may be essential for proper embryogenesis.

Nectin-1, also referred to as ED4, is a poliovirus receptor- related 1 protein is a part of the Nectin family. Nectin-1 endorses cell-cell contacts by forming homophilic or heterophilic trans-dimers. Heterophilic interactions among PVRL1/nectin-1 & PVRL4/nectin-4 and among PVRL1/nectin-1 & PVRL3/nectin-3 have been found. Nectin-1 acts as an entry receptor for herpes simplex virus & pseudorabies virus as well. Likewise, Neurite outgrowth-promoting activity has been shown by Nectin-1.

Developmentally-regulated GTP-binding protein 1 (DRG1) is a member of the GTP1/OBG family. DRG1 has a role in cell proliferation and differentiation, as well as in apoptosis, proposing a role in tumor formation and metastasis. Expression of the DRG1 was considerably reduced in breast tumor cells, particularly in patients with lymph node or bone metastasis as compared to those with localized breast cancer. NRP1 is a coreceptor bound on membranes to tyrosine kinase receptors for semaphorin family proteins and endothelial growth factors, it is a type one transmembrane protein. Neuropilin-1 takes part in cell survival, angiogenesis, invasion, migration, and axon guidance. the protein is a potential target for cancer therapies as it interacts with VEGF (co-receptor).

BAG3 Inhibits the chaperone activity of HSP70/HSC70 by promoting substrate release. BAG3 has anti-apoptotic activity. SPARC protein, or secreted protein acidic and rich in cysteine, or osteonectin or basement-membrane protein 40 is a protein that is coded by the SPARC gene in humans. It is a glycoprotein located in bones, that binds to calcium. The osteonectin is secreted from osteoblasts cells when boas are formed, mineralized and promotes the formation and creation of mineral crystals. Asides from calcium, it has been shown that this protein can also bind to collagen.

Oncostatin M is a member of a cytokine family that includes leukemia-inhibitory factor, granulocyte colony-stimulating factor, and interleukin 6. This gene encodes a growth regulator which inhibits the proliferation of a number of tumor cell lines. It regulates cytokine production, including IL-6, G-CSF and GM-CSF from endothelial cells.
