ESM1, also knows as, Endothelial cell-specific molecule 1 is a protein encoded by a gene called ESM1 in humans. ESM1 is a secreted protein that is highly expressed in human kidney and lung tissues (in the endothelial cells). There are suggestions regarding the protein’s involvement in endothelium-dependent pathological diseases, due to his regulation that is performed by cytokines.

STMN2 is a neuronal growth-associated protein which shares a majority of its amino acid sequence with the phosphoprotein stathmin. STMN2 is involved in neuronal differentiation and in modulating membrane interaction with the cytoskeleton through neurite outgrowth. STMN2 is necessary for maintaining the anchorage-independent growth state of beta-catenin/TCF-activated hepatoma cells. The proteasome is a multicatalytic proteinase complex which holds an extremely organized 20S core structure shaped like a ring. The central structure is assembled from 4 rings of 28 non-identical subunits; 2 rings are composed of 7 alpha subunits and 2 rings are composed of 7 beta subunits. There is a high concentration of proteasomes all over the eukaryotic cells and their job is to cleave peptides in an ATP/ubiquitin-dependent procedure in a non-lysosomal pathway. PSMA3 encodes several of the peptidase T1A family which is a 20S core alpha subunit. Two alternative transcripts encoding diverse isoforms were recognized.

Superoxide dismutase Mn (soda) belongs to the iron/manganese superoxide dismutase family. SodA destroys radicals that are typically produced within the cells and which are toxic to biological systems. Myostatin (GDF-8), a member of the TGFbeta superfamily, is a potent and specific negative regulator of skeletal muscle mass. In serum, myostatin circulates as part of a latent complex containing myostatin propeptide and/or follistatin-related gene. The myostatin propeptide is known to bind and inhibit myostatin in vitro. This interaction is relevant in vivo, with a majority (>70%) of myostatin in serum bound to its propeptide. The myostatin propeptide is negative regulator of myostatin in vivo.

Smac/Diablo is a proapoptotic protein that increases caspase activation in the cytochrome c/Apaf-1/caspase-9 pathway by its binding to the inhibitor of apoptosis proteins (IAPs) and removing their inhibitory activity. Smac/Diablo is a mitochondrial protein which enters the cytosol when cells go through apoptosis, and it moderates the caspase inhibition of IAPs.

Dnak(residues 508-638) of the substrate binding domain is a-helical and appears to act as a lid covering the substrate binding cleft. DnaK(amino acid 508-638) was purified to apparent homogeneity by using conventional column chromatography techniques. Additional amino acid (Met) is attached at N- terminus.

Mediator Complex Subunit 21 (MED21) belongs to the mediator complex subunit 21 family. MED21 interacts with the human RNA polymerase II holoenzyme and is participated in transcriptional regulation of RNA polymerase II transcribed genes. A pseudogene of MED21 can be found on chromosome 8. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants.

Stomatin (STOM) is a part of a highly conserved family of integral membrane proteins. STOM is a membrane protein involved in regulation of monovalent cation transport through lipid membranes which regulates ACCN1 and ACCN3 gating. STOM is a major lipid-raft component of erythrocytes and epithelial cells, and an abundant platelet protein which acts as a cytoskeletal anchor.

The somatomedins, or insulin-like growth factors (IGFs), comprise a family of peptides that play important roles in mammalian growth and development. IGF1 mediates many of the growth-promoting effects of growth hormone (GH; MIM 139250). Early studies showed that growth hormone did not directly stimulate the incorporation of sulfate into cartilage, but rather acted through a serum factor, termed 'sulfation factor,' which later became known as 'somatomedin' (Daughaday et al., 1972). In the past, serologic tests for gliadin antibodies usually were not very precise and were not enough for accurate diagnosis due to missing deamidated epitopes within the authentic gliadin fraction traditionally used in diagnostic test kits. ProSpec's deamidated Gliadin isoform matches to the deamidated neo-epitopes, which in the natural antigen are formed by transglutaminase-mediated glutamine side chain deamidation.

SAA1 protein is an acute phase apolipoprotein reactant which is produced mostly by hepatocytes and under regulation of inflammatory cytokines. SAA1 (Serum amyloid A1) protein is produced mainly in the liver and circulates in low levels in the blood. The SAA1 seems to have a role in the immune system. SAA1 protein levels increase in the blood and other tissues under conditions of inflammation. Disulfide Oxidoreductase or DsbA is a protein, found in the plasma. It is part of the thioredoxin protein family. The protein creates disulfide bonds in the target proteins by contributing disulfide bond from its Cys30-Pro31-His32-Cys33 active site to a couple of cysteine residues.

DsbG has disulfide bond isomerase and chaperone activity. DsbG interacts with refolding intermediates of chemically denatured citrate synthase and prevents their aggregation in vitro. DsbG shares sequnce homology with DsbC. DsbG forms a stable periplasmic dimer and displays an equilibrium constant with glutathione comparable with DsbA and DsbC. DsbG is expressed at roughly 25% level of DsbC.
