Dynein Axonemal Light Intermediate Chain1 also known as DNALI1 belongs to the inner dynein arm light chain family. DNALI1 take a dynamic role in flagellar motility. DNALI1 is the human homolog of the Chlamydomonas inner dynein arm gene, p28. The exactfunction of DNALI1 is not known yet, on the other hand, it is a potential candidate for immotile cilia syndrome. In addition it has been found that the following diseases: primary ciliary dyskinesia, and huntington's disease have been associated with DNALI1. Ultrastructural defects of the inner dynein arms are seen in patients with ICS. Immotile mutant strains ofChlamydomonas, biflagellated algae, show similar defects.

a-Synuclein (amino acids 1-140), an acidic neuronal protein of 140 amino acids, is extremely heat-resistant and is natively unfolded with an extended structure primarily composed of random coils. a-synuclein has been suggested to be implicated in the pathogenesis of Parkinson’s disease and related neurodegenerative disorders, and more recently, to be an important regulatory component of vesicular transport in neuronal cells. Moreover, recent studies have shown that a-synuclein has chaperone activity and that this activity is lost upon removing its C-terminal acidic tail (amino acids 96-140).

SNF8 belongs to the SNF8 family of vacuolar sorting proteins and is restricts to both the nucleus and the cytoplasm. SNF8 is a subunit of the endosomal sorting complex essential for transport II (ESCRT-II), which is necessary for multivesicular body (MVB) formation and sorting of endosomal cargo proteins into MVBs. The MVB pathway facilitates transfer of transmembrane proteins into the lumen of the lysosome for degradation. NUDT14 is a cytoplasmic protein which contains one nudix hydrolase domain and acts as the sugar donor in numerous glycosylation reactions, including those involved in the production of glycogen. NUDT14 hydrolyzes ADP-ribose into ribose 5-phosphate and AMP, and UDP-glucose to glucose 1-phosphate and UMP. NUDT14 is a homodimer which binds magnesium as a cofactor and is encoded by a gene located on human chromosome 14.

Dickkopf-related protein 3 (DKK3) belongs to the DKK protein family including Dkk-1, 2, 3 and -4. DKK3 is a 350 amino acid secreted glycoprotein which is comprised of an N-terminal signal peptide and 2 conserved cysteine-rich domains that are separated by a 12 amino acid linker region. DKK3 is involved in embryonic development through its inhibition of the WNT signaling pathway. DKK3 gene expression is decreased in a variety of cancer cell lines and it may act as a tumor suppressor gene.

Acidic fibroblast growth factor is a member of the fibroblast growth factor (FGF) family. FGF family members possess broad mitogenic and cell survival activities, and are involved in a variety of biological processes, including embryonic development, cell growth, morphogenesis, tissue repair, tumor growth and invasion. This protein functions as a modifier of endothelial cell migration and proliferation, as well as an angiogenic factor. IRF1, IFN regulatory factor 1, is a member of the IFN regulatory transcription factor (IRF) family which regulates gene expression critical to immune response, hematopoiesis and proliferation. DKKs have a significant role in vertebrate development, where they locally inhibit Wnt controlled processes for instance antero-posterior axial patterning, limb development, somitogenesis and eye formation. T-cell surface glycoprotein CD3 zeta chain (CD247) is a member of the CD3Z/FCER1G family. CD247 is T-cell receptor zeta, which along with T-cell receptor alpha/beta and gamma/delta heterodimers, and also with CD3-gamma, -delta and -epsilon, creates the T-cell receptor-CD3 complex. The zeta chain has a central role in coupling antigen recognition to several intracellular signal-transduction pathways. Low expression of the CD247 antigen causes impaired immune response.
