Sorcin (SRI) which is a 22kDa calcium-binding protein was originally identified in multidrug-resistant cells. Sorcin, which modulates excitation-contraction coupling in the heart, contributes to calcium homeostasis in the heart sarcoplasmic reticulum.

Profilin-1 also known as Pfn1 is a ubiquitous actin monomer-binding protein which is a member of the profilin family. Pfn1 significantly enhances skin wound healing in-vitro as well as in-vivo which is mediated by purinergic receptors. Furthermore, Pfn1 is also active in endothelial cell migration and vessel sprouting. Pfn1 is considered to regulate actin polymerization in response to extracellular signals.

Olfactory marker protein (OMP) which is expressed in the cytoplasm of olfactory chemosensory neurons in the nasal neuroepithelium, is associated in a unique way with the mature olfactory receptor neurons in numerous vertebrate species. OMP have a modulatory part in the odor detection/signal transduction cascade ant its expression is a sign of mature vertebrate olfactory receptor neurons (ORNs). OMP is also a potent enhancer of mitosis in fetal olfactory epithelial cells and it promotes an increase in uptake of tritiated thymidine in liver.

SecB, a significant chaperone that takes part in protein export, binds various ligands rapidly with high affinity and low specificity. SecB plays an important role during protein export through the general secretory pathway by modulating the partitioning of precursors between folding or aggregation and delivery to the membrane-bound translocation apparatus. In the presence of RAP, GCM doesn’t increase the axon extension rate in relation to base medium. Furthermore, the addition of RAP to the base medium doesn’t change the rate of axon extension. This implies that the growth stimulatory effect of apoE-containing lipoproteins secreted by glial cells is mediated by the LDLr family receptors. RAP annuls the growth stimulatory effect of GCM.
