C4b is derived from native C4 upon cleavage and release of C4a. 4b is created by cleavage of purified C4 with the classical pathway activated protease C1s enzyme. C4b is essential to the function of 2 of the 3 pathways of complement. Both the classical and lectin pathways of complement activation generate surface-bound active proteases that cleave C4. These enzymes cleave a peptide bond in C4 releasing the anaphylatoxin C4a and activating C4b. C4A and C4B are 2 variants of C4 that are common in man whereas, in animals who have only 1 type usually have C4B.

Recombinant fusion protein A/G/L is comprised of 5 Ig-binding regions of protein L (B1-B2-B3-B4-B5), 5 IgG binding domains from Protein A (E-D-A-B-C) and 2 Ig-binding region of protein G (C1-C3). The recombinant Protein A/G/L is ideal for purification of monoclonal or polyclonal IgG antibodies. Protein A/G/L binds to IgG from humans, mice, rats, cows, goats, sheep, rabbits, guinea pigs, pigs, dogs and cats.

RNHA is an endonuclease which specifically degrades the RNA of RNA-DNA hybrids. Localized to the nucleus, the RNHA protein mediates the removal of Okazaki fragment RNA primers which are present on the lagging strand during DNA replication. RNHA catalyzes the endonucleolytic cleavage of RNA to a 5'-phosphomonoester and is capable of binding magnesium or manganese as cofactors.

Chromgranin-A is part of the neuroendocrine secretory protein family. CHGA is located in secretory vesicles of neurons and endocrine cells. Chromgranin-A is a precursor to three biologically active peptides; vasostatin, pancreastatin, and parastatin. These peptides act as autocrine or paracrine negative modulators of the neuroendocrine system. Other peptides, including chromostatin, beta-granin, WE-14 and GE-25, are also derived from the full-length protein. Chromgranin-A has numerous biological activities on some tissues and organs and exerts a large spectrum of homeostatic actions, including antifungal and antimicrobial effect, modulation of cell adhesion, and inhibition of parathyroid hormone secretion.

IL11 is a member of the gp130 family of cytokines. These cytokines drive the assembly of multisubunit receptor complexes, all of which contain at least one molecule of the transmembrane signaling receptor IL6ST (gp130). IL-11 is shown to stimulate the T-cell-dependent development of immunoglobulin-producing B cells. It is also found to support the proliferation of hematopoietic stem cells and megakaryocyte progenitor cells.

Endonuclease III (nth) is a DNA repair enzyme which has both DNA N-glycosylase activity and AP-lyase activity. The DNA N-glycosylase activity releases numerous damaged pyrimidines from DNA by cleaving the N-glycosidic bond and leaving an AP (apurinic/apyrimidinic) site. This AP-lyase activity cleaves the phosphodiester bond 3' to the AP site by a beta-elimination, thus leaving a 3'-terminal unsaturated sugar and a product with a terminal 5'-phosphate.

Compstatin is an effective inhibitor of the activation of complement component C3 and thus blocks a central and essential step in the complement cascade. The specific binding site on C3, the configuration in the bound form, and the exact mode of action of compstatin are unknown. The crystal structure of compstatin in complex with C3c reveals that the compstatin-binding site is formed by the macroglobulin (MG) domains 4 and 5. This binding site is part of the structurally stable MG-ring created by domains MG1–6 and is distant from any other known binding site on C3. RANTES is chemotactic for T cells, eosinophils and basophils and plays an active role in recruiting leukocytes into inflammatory sites. With the help of particular cytokines (i.e. IL-2 and IFN-g) that are released by T cells, RANTES also induces the proliferation and activation of certain natural killer (NK) cells to form CHAK (CC-Chemokine-activated killer) cells. Rantes is also an HIV-suppressive factor released from CD8+ T cells. The Rantes chemokine has been localized to chromosome 17 in humans.
