Introduction
Plasminogen activator inhibitor-1 is the principal inhibitor of tissue plasminogen activator(tPA) and uPA, the activators of plasminogenand hence fibrinolysis(the physiological breakdown of blood clots). It is a serine protease inhibitor(serpin) protein (SERPINE1). The other PAI, plasminogen activator inhibitor-2(PAI-2) is secreted by the placentaand only present in significant amounts during pregnancy. In addition, protease nexinacts as an inhibitor of tPA. SERPINE1, however, is the main inhibitor of the plasminogen activators.

Background
Epitalon, also known as Epithalon, is a synthetic tetrapeptide that has been a focal point in the field of aging and longevity research. This peptide, consisting of four amino acids, is derived from the pineal gland and has been associated with a variety of biological effects, most notably its potential role in extending the lifespan of cells.
Epitalon's primary function is its interaction with telomeres, the protective caps at the ends of chromosomes that shorten as cells divide. By stimulating the production of telomerase, an enzyme that can repair and lengthen telomeres, Epitalon may slow down the aging process at a cellular level.
Numerous studies have explored the potential of Epitalon in extending the lifespan of organisms. For instance, Khavinson and colleagues (2003) found that Epitalon increased the lifespan of fruit flies, while Anisimov et al. (2003) reported similar results in mice. These findings suggest that Epitalon could potentially have similar effects in humans.
Epitalon has also been studied for its role in regulating circadian rhythms. Korkushko et al. (2011) found that Epitalon could restore disrupted circadian rhythms in elderly people, suggesting potential applications in sleep disorders and other conditions related to circadian rhythm disruption.
Beyond its potential role in aging and longevity, Epitalon has been explored for its potential therapeutic applications. Anisimov et al. (2011) found that Epitalon could reduce the incidence of spontaneous tumors in mice, suggesting potential applications in cancer prevention.
While research on Epitalon is promising, it is important to note that most studies have been conducted in animals or in vitro. More research is needed to fully understand the potential effects and applications of Epitalon in humans. However, the existing body of research suggests that Epitalon could be a promising tool in the fight against aging and age-related diseases.

Introduction
Sincalide corresponds to the C-terminal octapeptide of cholecystokinin (CCK) which acts on receptors within the gallbladder wall causing it to contract.
Cholecystokinin (CCK) is a hormone originally isolated from porcine intestinal mucosa and described as a linear 33-amino acid peptide containing a sulfated tyrosine, which is essential for its biological activity. It has been found in mammals in both the digestive tract and the central nervous system. Among its multiple biological functions, this hormone stimulates pancreatic exocrine secretion, gallbladder contraction, and intestine motility and may also act as a neurotransmitter/neuromodulator in the central nervous system. -

Introduction
ApoA5 is an important regulator of serum triglyceride concentrations. An ApoA5 mouse nock-out model produced an approximately four fold increase in serum triglycerides, whereas a knock-in model human ApoA5 produced 50-70% lower concentrations of mouse serum triglycerides. Furthermore, peroxisome proliferators-activated receptoragonists, which are used clinically to lower serum triglyceride concentrations, cause increased ApoA5 mRNA expression. There is very little known about ApoA5 protein in human serum. Lately, it was established that ApoA5 is present in the human serum and it can be detected by polyclonal antibodies against both the HN2 and COOH termini, but at much lower concentration than other apolipoproteins.

Introduction
The glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor, also known as GLP1R, is a receptor protein found on brain neurons and beta cells of the pancreas. GLP1R activates a signalling cascade that leads to the initiation of adenylyl cyclase and increased intracellular cAMP levels. In humans, GLP1R is synthesized by GLP1R gene, which is present on chromosome 6.
GLP1R takes part in the control of blood sugar level by enhancing insulin secretion. GLP1R is a part of the glucagon receptor family of G protein-coupled receptors. GLP1R consists of two domains, one transmembrane (TMD) domain, that binds the N-terminal region of GLP-1. And one extracellular (ECD) which binds the C-terminal helix of GLP-1. The TMD domain contains a fulcrum of polar residues that controls the biased signaling of the receptor, while the transmembrane helical boundaries and extracellular surface are a trigger for biased agonism. -

Introduction
LPL is a lipoprotein lipase, which is expressed in the heart, muscle, and adipose tissue. LPL acts as a homodimer, and has the dual functions of triglyceride hydrolase and ligand/bridging factor for receptor-mediated lipoprotein uptake. Type I hyperlipoproteinemia is a result of severe mutations which cause LPL deficiency, whereas less extreme mutations in LPL are linked to many disorders of lipoprotein metabolism. Lipoprotein lipase (LPL) is a fundamental enzyme in plasma triglyceride hydrolysis and is secreted by macrophages in the subendothelial space. LPL also promotes the development of atherosclerosis through facilitation of monocyte adhesion to endothelial cells, stimulation of tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF) secretion and induction of vascular smooth muscle cell proliferation.

Introduction
EPCAM is a carcinoma-associated antigen and belongs to a family which includes at least 2 type I membrane proteins. The EPCAM protein has a role in embryonic stem cells proliferation and differentiation. EPCAM is used as a target for immunotherapy treatment of human carcinomas. EPCAM is expressed on most normal epithelial cells and gastrointestinal carcinomas and acts as a homotypic calcium-independent cell adhesion molecule. Epithelial cell adhesion molecules (EPCAM) can act as a physical homophilic interaction molecule between intestinal epithelial cells (IECs) and intraepithelial lymphocytes (IELs) at the mucosal epithelium for supplying immunological barrier as a first line of defense against mucosal infection. EPCAM gene mutations result in congenital tufting enteropathy.

Introduction
CD207 (C-type lectin domain family 4 member K) is expressed in Langerhans cells which are immature dendritic cells of the epidermis and mucosa. Moreover, CD207 is expressed in several other dendritic cell types including dermal CD103+ DCs and splenic CD8+ DCs. Langerin is localized in the Birbeck granules, the organelles present in the cytoplasm of Langerhans cells and comprised of superimposed and zippered membranes. CD207 is a C-type lectin with mannose binding specificity, and it has been suggested that mannose binding by the CD207 protein leads to internalization of antigen into Birbeck granules thus providing access to a nonclassical antigen-processing pathway.

Introduction
Excess adiposity is the most important risk in the development of insulin resistance and type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). Adipose tissue produces several proteins (adipocytokines) such as leptin, adiponectin, resistin, tumor necrosis factor-α, and IL-6, that modulate insulin sensitivity and appear to play an important role in the pathogenesis of insulin resistance, diabetes, dyslipidemia, inflammation, and atherosclerosis. However, the mechanisms by which fat tissue induces insulin resistance and the role of adipocytokines in the pathogenesis of T2DM have not been well established. Visfatin, also known as pre-B cell colony-enhancing factor (PBEF), is a cytokine that is highly expressed in visceral fat and was originally isolated as a secreted factor that synergizes with IL-7 and stem cell factors to promote the growth of B cell precursors. Visfatin homologs have been identified in carp, invertebrate mollusks, and bacteria, as well as in vertebrates, including humans and the mouse. It h

Introduction
Transferrin is the iron-transport protein of vertebrate serum and donates iron to cells through interaction with a specific membrane receptor, CD71. Transferrin appears to be indispensable for most cells growing in tissue culture.
It is referred to frequently as a growth factor because, in analogy to other growth factor-receptor interactions, proliferating cells express high numbers of transferrin receptors, and the binding of transferrin to their receptors is needed for cells to initiate and maintain their DNA synthesis. Apart from its role as an iron transport protein transferrin acts as a cytokine and has functions that may not be related to its iron-carrying capacity.
Human Transferrin is a crucial component for the cultivation of mammalian cells in-vitro. Human Transferrin is Critical for long-term cells growth in-vitro. Human Transferrin is used as detoxificant in media by binding contaminating metal ions. Human Transferrin is often used as a nutrient in fermentation media for recombinant protein and biopharmaceutical production. Additional common uses of Human Transferrin areMolecular weight, Affinity purification of anti-human transferrin antibodies and also as receptor mediated transfection of molecules such as DNA, into cells. -

Introduction
Osteopontin is a glycoprotein that was first identified in osteoblasts and is involved in bone remodeling, immune functions in fibroblasts, macrophages, and lymphocytes during inflammation and wound healing. SPP1 binds tightly to hydroxyapatite. SPP1 forms an integral part of the mineralized matrix. SPP1 is vital to cell-matrix interaction.
Secreted Phosphoprotein-1 protects against cardiac ischemia-reperfusion injury via late preconditioning. Expression of both Ostepontin and CD44 in hepatocellular carcinoma is linked with advanced tumor stage and contributes to prognosis information. SPP1 is the most over-expressed gene in intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma. Secreted Phosphoprotein-1 overexpression is related with interstitial lung diseases. -

Introduction
RELM-beta (Resistin-Like Molecule-beta) is a member of a recently identified family of secreted proteins containing a conserved cystein-rich C-terminus. The RELM family consists of resistin (also called FIZZ3), RELM-alfa (FIZZ1), RELM-beta (FIZZ2) and RELM-gamma. Only resisistin and RELM-beta were found in humans whereas all four RELM family members were identified in rodents.
RELM-beta appears to be produced as a homodimer exclusively by intestinal goblet cells and can be found in high quantities in stool. Remarkably, stool of germ-free mice displaying sterile intestinal tract does not contain RELM-beta until bacterial colonization takes place after pathogen-free mice entered natural environment. Some, but not all, colon carcinoma cell lines secrete RELM-beta into the cell culture supernatant.
The physiological function of RELM-beta is not known. High doses of recombinant RELM-beta showed hyperglycemic effects including lowered glucose disposal and increased hepatic glucose production in mice. -

Introduction
Exedin-4 Recombinant is a like peptide-1 receptor agonist. The native hormone is produced in the gut of Gila monster Heloderma suspectrum (a type of reptile found in the desert) that stimulates production without causing threateningly low blood sugar, which can occur after using some anti-diabetes products. Recently, researchers used extracted saliva from gila monsters to create an unprecedented breakthrough in Diabetes Type 2 treatment. Unlike other products taken for type 2 diabetes, Exedin-4 has not been linked with weight gain and actually resulted in weight loss, according to the researchers. Exedin-4 enhances glucose-dependant secretion, suppresses inappropriately elevated secretion and slows gastric emptying in vivo. It also promotes B-cell proliferation and neogenesis in vitro and in animal models. Exedin-4 stimulates an increase in acinar cAMP, without stimulating the release of amylase.
