Introduction
Thymidine phosphorylase precursor (TYMP) is a platelet-derived endothelial cell growth factor that catalyzes the formation of thymine and 2-deoxy-D-ribose-1-phosphate from thymidine and orthophosphate. TYMP is an angiogenic inducer that potently stimulates the growth of endothelial cells and induces chemotaxis. TYMP has a highly restricted target cell specificity acting only on endothelial cells. An increased expression of TYMP is found in a broad array of different solid tumors and inflammatory diseases and is frequently associated with poor prognosis. Mutations in the TYMP gene are linked to mitochondrial neurogastrointestinal encephalomyopathy.

Introduction
DUSPs are distinguished by their ability to dephosphorylate both tyrosine and serine/threonine residues. DUSPs have been implicated as major modulators of critical signaling pathways. Dual specificity phosphatase 19 (DUSP19) belongs to the dual specificity protein phosphatase subfamily. DUSP19 is a protein phosphatase which functions as a stress-activated protein kinase pathway-regulating phosphatase. DUSP19 contains a variation of the consensus DUSP C-terminal catalytic domain, with the last serine residue replaced by alanine, and lacks the N-terminal CH2 domain found in the MKP class of DUSPs.

Introduction
OAS1 enzyme is a member of the 2’,5’-oligoadenylate synthetase family. OAS1 is induced by interferons and uses adenosine triphosphate in 2’-specific nucleotidyl transfer reactions to synthesize 2’,5’-oligoadenylates(2-5As). These molecules in turn activate latent RNase L resulting in viral RNA degradation and the inhibition of viral replication.
OAS1 may have a role in mediating resistance to virus infection, control of cell growth, differentiation, and apoptosis. OAS1 binds double-stranded RNA and polymerizes ATP into PPP (A2'P5'A)N oligomers, which activate the latent RNase L that, once activated, cleaves single-stranded RNAs.
OAS1 gene mutations are been linked to host susceptibility to viral infection.
OSA1 gene polymorphisms are linked to the outcome of hepatitis C virus infection. Furthermore, OAS1 gene polymorphisms are linked to the susceptibility to severe acute respiratory syndrome. -

Introduction
The enzyme Carbonic anhydrase II having an accession number of NP_414668 is also called carbonate dehydratase which is part of the enzyme family that catalyses rapid inter-conversion of carbon dioxide & water to bicarbonate, carbonic acid and protons (CO2 + H2O ? HCO3? + H+), a reaction that occurs rather slowly in the absence of a catalyst. The majority of carbonic anhydrases enclose a zinc ion in their active site and therefore is classified as metalloenzymes.
The most important function of Carbonic anhydrase is known to preserve acid-base balance in blood and other tissues, and to help transport carbon dioxide of tissues. Carbonic anhydrases have been found in all kingdoms of life. Carbonic anhydrase has 3 different classes: alpha, beta and gamma which share very little sequence or structural similarity, thus far they all perform the same function and require a zinc ion at the active site. Mammalian carbonic anhydrase is monomeric and belongs to the alpha class. Plant carbonic anhydrase is dimeric and belongs to the beta class.
Methane-producing bacteria carbonic anhydrase is trimeric and grows in hot springs which forms the gamma class. -

Introduction
Thyroid Peroxidase (TPO) represents one of the main autoantigenic targets in autoimmune thyroid disease of humans. Its identity with the formerly so-called `microsomal antigen` has been shown several years ago. As an integral membrane glycoprotein it is restricted to the apical plasma membrane of the follicular epithelial cells and comprises two identical subunits of approx. 100 kDa molecular weight. The hemoprotein TPO plays a key role in the thyroid hormone biosynthesis by catalysing both the iodination of tyrosyl residues and the coupling of iodotyrosyl residues in thyroglobulin (TG) to form precursors of the thyroid hormones T4 and T3.

Introduction
Carbonic Anhydrase XIII, also known as CA13 is a member of the alpha-carbonic anhydrase family, which catalyzes the rapid interconversion of carbon dioxide and water tobicarbonate and protons, a reversible reaction which occurs relatively slowly in the absence of catalyst. Furthermore, the active siteof nearly all carbonic anhydrases contains a zinc ion; they have been classified as metalloenzymes. At least fivedistinct CA families (?, ?, ?, ? and ?) have been found. These families have no significant a.a sequence resemblance and in just about allcases are considered to be an example of convergent evolution. The ?-CAs have been demonstrated in humans.

Introduction
Fucosyltransferase 3 (FUT3) catalyzes alpha-1, 3 and alpha-1, 4 glycosidic linkages which take part in the expression of Vim-2, Lewis A, Lewis B, sialyl Lewis X and Lewis X/SSEA-1 antigens. FUT3 takes part in blood group Lewis determination; Lewis-positive (Le+) individuals have an active enzyme while Lewis-negative (Le-) individuals have an inactive enzyme. FUT3 also operates on the corresponding 1, 4-galactosyl derivative, creating1, 3-L-fucosyl links.

Introduction
Aminoacyl-tRNA synthetases are a class of enzymes that charge tRNAs with their cognate amino acids. The protein encoded by this gene is a cytoplasmic enzyme which belongs to the class II family of aminoacyl-tRNA synthetases. The enzyme is responsible for the synthesis of histidyl-transfer RNA, which is essential for the incorporation of histidine into proteins. The gene is located in a head-to-head orientation with HARSL on chromosome five, where the homologous genes share a bidirectional promoter. The gene product is a frequent target of autoantibodies in the human autoimmune disease polymyositis/dermatomyositis.
