    • Introduction

7-methylguanosine phosphate-specific 5'-nucleotidase (NT5C3B) includes transferase activity and nucleotide binding. Among NT5C3B’s related super-pathways are adenosine nucleotides degradation II and Pyrimidine metabolism. NT5C3B hydrolyzes 7-methylguanosine monophosphate (m(7)GMP) to 7-methylguanosine and inorganic phosphate. The specific activity for m(7)GMP guards cells against undesired retrieval of m(7)GMP and its incorporation into nucleic acids. In addition, NT5C3B has weak activity for CMP.

    • Synonyms

      NT5C3L, 7-methylguanosine phosphate-specific 5'-nucleotidase, Cytosolic 5'-nucleotidase 3B, Cytosolic 5'-nucleotidase III-like protein, cN-III-like protein, N(7)-methylguanylate 5'-phosphatase.

    • Introduction

Transferrin is the iron-transport protein of vertebrate serum and donates iron to cells through interaction with a specific membrane receptor, CD71. Transferrin appears to be indispensable for most cells growing in tissue culture.
It is referred to frequently as a growth factor because, in analogy to other growth factor-receptor interactions, proliferating cells express high numbers of transferrin receptors, and the binding of transferrin to their receptors is needed for cells to initiate and maintain their DNA synthesis. Apart from its role as an iron transport protein transferrin acts as a cytokine and has functions that may not be related to its iron-carrying capacity.
Human Transferrin is a crucial component for the cultivation of mammalian cells in-vitro. Human Transferrin is Critical for long-term cells growth in-vitro. Human Transferrin is used as detoxificant in media by binding contaminating metal ions. Human Transferrin is often used as a nutrient in fermentation media for recombinant protein and biopharmaceutical production. Additional common uses of Human Transferrin areMolecular weight, Affinity purification of anti-human transferrin antibodies and also as receptor mediated transfection of molecules such as DNA, into cells.

    • Introduction

UNG is a member of the Uracil-DNA glycosylase family. One of his functions is to prevent mutagenesis by eliminating uracil from DNAmolecules by cleaving the N-glycosylic bond and initiating the base-excision repair (BER) pathway. Uracil basesare formed as a result of cytosine deamination or misincorporation of dUMP residues. After a mutation is formed, the mutagenicthreat of uracil propagates through any subsequent DNA replication steps. Among the diseases associated with UNG are: congenital rubella, and immunodeficiency with hyper igm type 4.

    • Introduction

Synaptotagmin-1(SYT1) is a member of the synaptotagmin family, which contains two C2 domains. The synaptotagmins are integral membrane proteins of synaptic vesicles assumed to function as Ca(2+) sensors in the process of vesicular trafficking and exocytosis. SYT1 is the principal regulator responsible for allowing the human brain to release neurotransmitters. SYT1 may have a regulatory role in the membrane interactions during trafficking of synaptic vesicles at the active zone of the synapse. SYT1 binds acidic phospholipids with a specificity which entails the presence of both an acidic head group and a diacyl backbone. SYT1 can also bind to at least 3 additional proteins in a Ca2+-independent manner; these being neurexins, syntaxin and AP2.

    • Introduction

UGDH is part of the UDP-glucose/GDP-mannose dehydrogenase family and is a widely expressed enzyme localized in the liver. UGDH transfers UDP-glucose to UDP-glucuronate and thus takes part in the biosynthesis of glycosaminoglycans such as hyaluronan, chondroitin sulfate, and heparan sulfate. These glycosylated products are ordinary molecules of the extracellular matrix and participate in signal transduction, cell migration, and cancer growth and metastasis.

    • Introduction

Glutathione synthetase (GSS) is the second enzyme in the glutathione biosynthesis pathway. GSS catalyses the condensation of gamma-glutamylcysteine and glycine to form glutathione. Defects in the GSS are the cause of glutathione synthetase deficiency aka GSS deficiency or 5-oxoprolinuria or pyroglutamic aciduria, which is a severe form characterized by an increased rate of hemolysis and defective function of the central nervous system.

    • Synonyms

Glutathione synthetase, GSH synthetase, GSH-S, Glutathione synthase, GSHS, MGC14098, GSS.

    • Physical Appearance

    • Introduction

Flavokinase is a transferases family member, specifically those transferring phosphorus-containing groups (phosphotransferases) with an alcohol group as acceptor. Flavokinase is an enzyme that catalyzes the phosphorylation of riboflavin (vitamin B2) to form flavin-mononucleotide (FMN), which is an obligatory step in vitamin B2 utilization and flavin cofactor synthesis. It has been proposed that TNF, through the activation of the RFK gene, enhances the incorporation of FAD in NADPH oxidase enzymes, which is a critical step for the assembly and activation of NADPH oxidase.

    • Introduction

T7 RNA polymerase active enzyme synthesizes RNA at an increasing degree of that of E. coli RNA polymerase and it terminates transcription often. T7 RNA polymerase is very selective for initiation at its own promoter sequences and is resistant to antibiotics that inhibit E. coli RNA polymerase. In-vitro transcription of mRNA is achieved via bacteriophage T7 RNA polymerase using its ability to produce full-length RNA transcripts with high reliability, thoughT7 RNAP can manufacture as well immunostimulatory by products for example dsRNA which affect protein expression.
