DnaJB2 are important mediators of proteolysis which are involved in the regulation of protein degradation, exocytosis and endocytosis. The DnaJ proteins play a significant role in the HSP70 chaperone machine by interacting with HSP70 to stimulate ATP hydrolysis. Omentin is a recently recognized gene highly localized to the mental tissue (visceral adipose tissue). Omentin is present in the stromal vascular cells in the adipose tissue rather than in the adipocytes. Omentin is predominantly expressed in the visceral adipose tissue than the subcutaneous tissue, with the omentin mRNA being 150 times higher in the visceral adipose tissue. Omentin has also been detected in human blood using western blot analysis, and seems to increase insulin-stimulated glucose uptake in 3T3-L1 adipocytes in mice. Omentin seems to increase Akt phosphorylation irrespective of insulin presence. Its role in glucose metabolism and obesity remains to be described; an insulin-sensitizing action is possible.Differences in Omentin expression has been noted in adipose tissue from normals and patients with inflammatory bowel disease although its significance is unknown.

HINT1, also known as Histidine triad nucleotide-binding protein 1 is part of the superfamily named for a near C-terminal HXHXHXX motif (H:Histidine, X:a hydrophobic amino acid) positioned at the ?-phosphate of nucleotide substrates. HINT1 hydrolyzes adenosine 5'-monophosphoramidate substrates such as AMP-morpholidate, AMP-N-alanine methyl ester, AMP-alpha-acetyl lysine methyl ester and AMP-NH2. Though it was initially considered to be a protein kinase C inhibitor and act as a haplod-insufficient tumor suppressor including spontaneous tumor formation in Hint+/- and Hint-/- , its actual physiologic function is not known.

60S ribosome subunit biogenesis protein NIP7 homolog (NIP7) belongs to NIP7 family and contains 1 PUA domain. NIP7 interacts with pre-ribosome complex and may bind to RNA. NIP7 is vital for proper 27S pre-rRNA processing and 60S ribosome subunit assembly.

Complement Component 4 Binding Protein, Beta (C4BPB) belongs to a superfamily of proteins composed primarily of tandemly arrayed short consensus repeats of approximately 60 amino acids. C4BPB has a regulatory role in the coagulation system also, mediated via the beta-chain binding of protein S, a vitamin K-dependent protein which functions as a cofactor of activated protein C. A single, unique beta-chain of the C4BPB assembles with 7 identical alpha-chains into the principal isoform of C4BPB, which is a multimeric protein that controls activation of the complement cascade via the classical pathway. C4BPB binds as a cofactor to C3b/C4b inactivator (C3bINA), which subsequently hydrolyzes the complement fragment C4b. In addition, C4BPB accelerates the degradation of the C4bC2a complex (C3 convertase) by detaching the complement fragment C2a. Furthermore, C4BPB interacts with anticoagulant protein S and with serum amyloid P component.

Profilin1 (PFN1) is a ubiquitous actin monomer-binding protein which is a member of the profilin family. PFN1 significantly boosts skin wound healing in-vitro and in-vivo which may be mediated by purinergic receptors. PFN1 is also active in endothelial cell migration and vessel sprouting. PFN1 is thought to control actin polymerization in response to extracellular signals. PFN1 binds to actin and affects the formation of the cytoskeleton. In addition, PFN1 has an important role in the regulation of epithelial cell-cell adhesion. At high concentrations, profilin averts the polymerization of actin, while at low concentrations it enhances the polymerization. PFN1 gene deletion is linked to Miller-Dieker syndrome.

Synaptobrevin 2 which is an 18 kDa integral membrane protein localized to the cytoplasmic surface of synaptic vesicle, consists of a proline-rich N-terminal region, a highly conserved hydrophilic domain, followed by a transmembrane anchor and a C-terminal. Synaptobrevin 2 is predominantly expressed in Langerhans islets and glomerular cells. The N-terminal domain of the protein (residues 1-89) forms a specific SNARE complex with the target membrane-associated t- or Q-SNAREs syntaxin 1 and SNAP-25.
