      ATPaseTransporting Beta 3 (ATP1B3) is a member of the X(+)/potassium ATPases subunit beta family. ATP1B3 is the non-catalytic component of the active enzyme, which catalyzes the hydrolysis of ATP coupled with the exchange of Na+ and K+ ions across the plasma membrane. The beta subunit controls, by way of assembly of alpha/beta heterodimers, the quantity of sodium pumps transported to the plasma membrane. The precise role of the beta-3 subunit is unknown.

      ATP5H is a member of the ATPase d subunit family and encodes the d subunit of the F0 complex. Electron transport complexes of the respiratory chain create a proton gradient across the membrane which induces ATP5H to transform ADP to ATP. Two alternatively spliced isoforms of ATP5H, encoded by a gene that maps to human chromosome 17q25.1, are known. ATP5H is restricted to mitochondrial inner membrane.

      PDCD6 is a calcium-binding protein and is a member of the penta-EF-hand protein family. Calcium binding is vital for homodimerization and for conformational changes essential for binding to other protein partners. PDCD6 takes part in T cell receptor-, Fas-, and glucocorticoid-induced programmed cell death. However, tests showed that in mice deficient for PDCD6, apoptosis was not blocked which suggests that PDCD6 is functionally redundant.

      TFB1M is a member of the methyltransferase superfamily. TFB1M is a dimethyltransferase which methylates mitochondrial 12S rRNA at the conserved stem loop. The TFB1M protein also is part of the basal mitochondrial transcription complex and is required for mitochondrial gene expression. TFB1M stimulates transcription independently of the methyltransferase activity.

      NAGK is a member of the eukaryotic-type N-acetylglucosamine kinase family. NAGK converts endogenous N-acetylglucosamine (GlcNAc), a key component of complex carbohydrates, from lysosomal degradation or alimentary sources into GlcNAc 6-phosphate. NAGK is a prominent salvage enzyme of amino sugar metabolism in mammals. NAGK cooperates with STK16 and LNX1 and has ManNAc kinase activity.

      ATP5F1 is a mitochondrial ATP synthase subunit catalyzes ATP synthesis, using an electrochemical gradient of protons all through the inner membrane for the duration of the oxidative phosphorylation. ATP synthase is comprised of two linked multi-subunit complexes: the soluble catalytic core, F1, and the membrane-spanning component, Fo, including the proton channel.     • Introduction

      Survivin is part of the of the inhibitor of apoptosis (IAP) family, which encodes negative regulatory proteins that prevent apoptotic cell death. Members of the IAP family include multiple baculovirus IAP repeat (BIR) domains, but Survivin has only a single BIR domain.
      Survivin is an inhibitor of caspase activation therefore leading to negative regulation of apoptosis. BIRC5 is expressed in Merkel cell carcinoma.
      BIRC5 polymorphism causes survivin expression, thus contributing to the genetic susceptibility to lung cancer. BIRC5 expression in large cell lung cancer is substantially higher than in normal tissue cells. Survivin mRNA is up-regulated in tumors. Apoptotic response of infected intestinal epithelial cells is suppressed by C. parvum via upregulation of BIRC5, favoring parasite infection. Up-regulation of of Survivin is associated with breast carcinomas.
