Prorelaxin H2 (RLN2) is a member of the insulin gene superfamily. This family which is produced by the ovary, targets the mammalian reproductive system to ripen the cervix, elongate the pubic symphysis and inhibit uterine contraction. It may also have other roles in boosting sperm motility, regulating blood pressure, controlling heart rate and releasing oxytocin and vasopressin. RLN2 is a peptide hormone linked to several therapeutically relevant physiological effects, including regulation of collagen metabolism and multiple vascular control pathways. The active form of the RLN2 protein consists of an A chain and a B chain linked by disulfide bonds.

Mice lacking the homolog gene displayed a male-to-female sex reversal phenotype, which suggested a role in testicular embryogenesis Fibroblast Growth Factor 9 may have a role in glial cell growth and differentiation during development, gliosis during repair and regeneration of brain tissue after damage, differentiation and survival of neuronal cells, and growth stimulation of glial tumors.

ADAM10 is part of the ADAM family which are cell surface proteins with a distinctive structure possessing both potential adhesion and protease domains. ADAM10 cleaves many proteins including TNF-alpha and E-cadherin. ADAM10 cleaves the membrane-bound precursor of tnf-alpha at 76- ala-|-val-77 to its mature soluble form. ADAM10 is in charge for the proteolytic release of several other cell-surface proteins, including heparin-binding epidermal growth-like factor, ephrin-a2 and for constitutive and regulated alpha-secretase cleavage of amyloid precursor protein ADAM10 is involved in the normal cleavage of the cellular prion protein. ADAM10 is involved in the cleavage of the adhesion molecule l1 at the cell surface and in the release of membrane vesicles, suggesting a vesicle-based protease activity. ADAM10 controls the proteolytic processing of notch and mediates lateral inhibition during neurogenesis.

RAET1E is a member of the MHC class I family. MHC class I family contains main histocompatibility complex (MHC) class I-related genes positioned in a cluster on chromosome 6q24.2-q25.3. Cas9 (CRISPR associated protein 9) is an RNA-guided DNA endonuclease enzyme associated with the CRISPR (Clustered Regularly Interspaced Short Palindromic Repeats) adaptive immunity system in Streptococcus pyogenes, among other bacteria. S. Pyogenes utilizes Cas9 to remember and later probe and cleave foreign DNA, such as invading bacteriophage DNA or plasmid DNA. In case that the DNA substrate is complementary to the guide RNA, Cas9 cleaves the invading DNA. In addition to its original role in bacterial immunity, the Cas9 protein has been heavily employed as a genome engineering tool to induce site-directed double strand breaks in DNA. Interleukin 13 Receptor, Alpha 2 (IL13RA2) is a member of the type I cytokine receptor family, Type 5 subfamily. IL13RA2 is related to l13RA1, a subunit of the interleukin 13 receptor complex. IL13RA2 binds IL13 with high affinity, though lacking the cytoplasmic domain, and does not appear to function as a signal mediator. IL13RA2 plays a role in the internalization of IL13.

Vascular endothelial growth factor is an important signaling protein involved in both vasculogenesis and angiogenesis. VEGF is also a vasodilator and increases microvascular permeability and was originally referred to as vascular permeability factor.
Elevated levels of this protein are linked to POEMS syndrome, also known as Crow-Fukase syndrome. Mutations in this gene have been associated with proliferative and nonproliferative diabetic retinopathy.

Egl Nine Homolog 3 (EGLN3) belongs to the EGLN family of prolyl hydroxylases. In addition, EGLN3 hydroxylates PKM2 in hypoxia, thus limiting glycolysis. Under normoxia, EGLN3 hydroxylates and regulates the stability of ADRB2. EGLN3 is inhibited by polynitrogen compounds possibly by chelation to Fe2+ ions.

S100G (calbindin D9K) is a vitamin D-dependent calcium-binding protein. S100G, which is a cytosolic protein, is a member of a family of calcium-binding proteins that includes calmodulin, parvalbumin, troponin C, and S100 protein. In the intestine, S100G is vitamin D-dependent and its expression correlates with calcium transport activity. It acts as a mitogen for a variety of mesoderm- and neuroectoderm-derived cells in vitro, thus is thought to be involved in organogenesis. Three alternatively spliced variants encoding different isoforms have been described. The heparin-binding growth factors are angiogenic agents in vivo and are potent mitogens for a variety of cell types in vitro. There are differences in the tissue distribution and concentration of these 2 growth factors.

Recombinant Human Lipocalin-2 also called Neutrophil Gelatinase Associated Lipocalin (NGAL) belongs to a family of lipocans which include 25 proteins (including a1-microglobulin and b-lactoglobulin), which are characterized by their ability to bind small lipophilic substances in their hydrophobic core.
They thereby serve as transporters of substances like retinal, biliverdins & prostaglandins. There are indications that NGAL is involved in modulation of the inflammatory response and is found in the plasma of patients after stroke.
