ST13 is an adaptor protein (co-chaperone) that mediates the association of HSP70 & HSP90 and appears in early receptor complexes. ST13 plays a role in the assembly process of glucocorticoid receptor, which requires the assistance of multiple molecular chaperones. The expression of ST13 is downregulated in colorectal carcinoma tissue signifying that is candidate tumor suppressor gene. Through common binding to both Hsp70 and Hsp90, ST13 functions as an adaptor that can integrate Hsp70 and Hsp90 interactions. The expression of ST13 decreases in colorectal cancer tissue compared with that in adjacent normal tissue. ST13 is mostly expressed in colorectal epithelia and adenocarcinoma cells. ST13 functions to promote the efficiency of glucocorticoid receptor maturation in cells. The expression levels of the ST13 gene were significantly decreased in primary tumors compared with adjacent mucosa.

Retinoblastoma binding protein 4 (RBBP4) is a ubiquitously expressed nuclear protein which is a member of a highly conserved subfamily of WD-repeat proteins. RBBP4 is present in protein complexes involved in histone acetylation and chromatin assembly. Reconstitution to filaments
Performed by mixing equimolar amounts of cytokeratins of type I and type II at concentrations of approx. 0.5 mg/ml, both dissolved in 9.5 M urea buffer (see above). Protofilaments and filament complexes are obtained by dialyzing the resulting polypeptide solution stepwise to a concentration of 4 M urea and then to low salt condition (50 mM NaCl, 2 mM dithiothreitol, 10 mM Tris-HCl, pH 7.4). For immunization purposes, the solution can be further dialyzed against PBS (phosphate buffered saline, e.g. Dulbecco's PBS).

Nucleolar protein 3 (NOL3) is primarily expressed in the muscle and is appears in the nucleoplasm and concentrated in nucleoli. NOL3 is an anti-apoptotic protein which down-regulates the enzymatic activities of caspase 2, caspase 8 and tumor protein p53. NOL3 is highly expressed in the heart and skeletal muscle. NOL3 is identified at low levels in the placenta, liver, kidney and pancreas. The NOL3 mRNA and protein levels are stimulated by neuronal activity, which is vital in order to promote neuroplasticity, thus indicating a potential role for NOL3 in activity-dependent changes in dendrite function. Tachykinin-3 belongs to the substance P-related tachykinin family. Tachykinins are active peptides that stimulate neurons, induce behavioral responses, are effective vasodilators and secretagogues, and contract (directly or indirectly) many smooth muscles. TAC3 and its receptor are essential switches of regulator of human puberty, regulated by the brain through the release of the GnRH which starts a chain of processes which eventually lead to the production of sex hormones.
