NK3 Homeobox1 (NKX3-1) is a homeobox-containing transcription factor, which binds preferentially the consensus sequence 5'-TAAGT[AG]-3' and may act as a transcriptional repressor. The NKX3-1 transcription factor functions as a negative regulator of epithelial cell growth in prostate tissue. NKX3-1 has an imperative role in normal prostate development, regulating proliferation of glandular epithelium and in the formation of ducts in prostate. In addition, NKX3-1 functions as a tumor suppressor controlling prostate carcinogenesis, as shown by its ability to inhibit proliferation and invasion activities of PC-3 prostate cancer cells. Abnormal expression of NKX3-1 is linked with prostate tumor progression.

Adipocyte plasma membrane-associated protein, also known as APMAP, is a member of the strictosidine synthase family. APMAP exhibits strong arylesterase activity with beta-naphthyl acetate in addition to phenyl acetate and takes part in adipocyte differentiation.

Coiled-Coil Domain Containing 25 (CCDC25) is a 208 amino acid protein belonging to the CCDC25 family.

Developmental Pluripotency Associated 3 (DPPA3) is a protein which in mice may serve as a maternal factor during the preimplantation stage of development. In mice, the DPPA3 protein has a role in transcriptional repression, cell division, and maintenance of cell pluripotentiality. In humans, related intronless loci are found on chromosomes 14 and X. DPPA3 is expressed in embryonic stem and carcinoma cells. DPPA3 has a low expression in the testis, ovary and thymus. DPPA3 is highly expressed in testicular germ cell tumors.

Ubiquitin D (UBD) is an ubiquitin-like modifier (UBL) of the ubiquitin protein family. UBD is an ubiquitin-like protein which can form covalent conjugates, thus targeting proteins for degradation by the 26S proteasome. It is assumed that, UBD has roles in regulation of cell cycle, innate immunity, and apoptosis. UBD is a TNF-a inducible ubiquitin-like protein with a presumed role in the immune response.

Protein A is a cell wall component produced by several strains of Staphylococcus aureus. The recombinant Protein A is genetically engineered protein and holds 5 IgG-binding regions of protein A. Recombinant Protein A functions basically the same as native Protein A and is perfect for purification of polyclonal or monoclonal IgG antibodies. Protein A binds to human IgG1, IgG2 and IgG4, mouse IgG2a, IgG2b and IgG3 and rat IgG2c. Protein A also binds to total IgG from rabbit, pig, dog, cat, and guinea pig.

Leptin is a protein hormone with important effects in regulating body weight, metabolism and reproductive function. The protein is approximately~16 kDa in mass and encoded by the obese (ob)gene. leptin is expressed predominantly by adipocytes, which fits with the idea that body weight is sensed as the total mass of fat in the body. Smaller amounts of leptin are also secreted by cellsin the epithelium of the stomach and in the placenta. Leptin receptors are highly expressed in areas of the hypothalamus known to be important in regulating body weight, as well as in T lymphocytes and vascular endothelial cells.

DDIT3, also known as GADD153, is a basic domain-leucine zipper(bZIP) transcription factor of C/EBP family. Dickkopf-related protein 3 (DKK3) belongs to the DKK protein family including Dkk-1, 2, 3 and -4. DKK3 is a 350 amino acid secreted glycoprotein which is comprised of an N-terminal signal peptide and 2 conserved cysteine-rich domains that are separated by a 12 amino acid linker region. DKK3 is involved in embryonic development through its inhibition of the WNT signaling pathway. DKK3 gene expression is decreased in a variety of cancer cell lines and it may act as a tumor suppressor gene.

SNTA1 is a member of the syntrophin gene family. SNTA1 is a peripheral membrane protein found linked with dystrophin and dystrophin-related proteins. Dystrophin is a large, rod-like cytoskeletal protein located at the inner surface of muscle fibers. Dystrophin is absent in Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy patients, however it is present in reduced amounts in Becker Muscular Dystrophy patients. Syntrophins are cytoplasmic peripheral membrane scaffold proteins and components of the dystrophin-associated protein complex. The N-terminal PDZ domain of SNTA1 interacts with the C-terminus of the pore-forming alpha subunit (SCN5A) of the cardiac sodium channel Nav1.5. In addition, SNTA1 associates cardiac sodium channels with the nitric oxide synthase-PMCA4b (plasma membrane Ca-ATPase subtype 4b) complex in cardiomyocytes. C1q is the first component of the classical pathway of complement activation. C1q along with the enzymatically active components C1r and C1s forms the C1 complex. When C1 binds to immunoglobulins in the form of immune complexes, it leads to activation of C1r and C1s proteases and a further activates the classical pathway of complement. C1q is a glycoprotein that belongs to the collectin family, having a molecular weight of about 410-462 kDa. C1q is a hexamer composed of globular heads attached to collagen-like triple-helix tails. The globular heads of C1q exclusively bind to the CH2 domain of IgG molecules or the CH3 domain of IgM. Each heavy chain of the immunoglobulin molecule contains a single binding site for C1q. Given that C1q must bind to no less than two heavy chains in order to alter its conformation and activate C1r and C1s, its activation follows only after binding to immunoglobulins in the form of immune complexes bound to multivalent antigens. C1q’s main physiological role is in the clearance of immune complexes and apoptotic bodies from the organism. Interruption of this process may lead to development of autoimmunity. Individuals with genetic deficiencies of C1q or other components of the classical pathway are at risk to develop SLE. C1q specifically binds to apoptotic bodies of human keratinocytes, vascular endothelial cells and lymphocytes. Complement components C1q and bound C3 mediate the clearance of apoptotic bodies. Chromosome 10 Open Reading Frame 54, also known as C10ORF54 is part of the immunoglobulin superfamily. NOL3 is identified at low levels in the placenta, liver, kidney and pancreas. The NOL3 mRNA and protein levels are stimulated by neuronal activity, which is vital in order to promote neuroplasticity, thus indicating a potential role for NOL3 in activity-dependent changes in dendrite function. S100A1 is a member of the S100 family of calcium binding proteins with EF-hand type Ca+2 binding motive. S100A1 (Calcium Binding Protein A1) is involved in the activation of sarcoplasmatic calcium release and the regulation of intermediate filament polymerization. S100A1 may function in stimulation of Ca2+-induced Ca2+ release, inhibition of microtubule assembly, and inhibition of protein kinase C-mediated phosphorylation. Reduced expression of S100A1 has been implicated in cardiomyopathies.

Podocalyxin (PODXL) is a greatly glycosylated transmembrane sialoprotein in the CD34 and endoglycan family. The PODXL protein is involved in the regulation of both adhesion and cell morphology and cancer progression. PODXL functions as an anti-adhesive molecule, which retains an open filtration pathway between neighboring foot processes in the podocyte by charge repulsion. ANXA5 is a member of the annexin family of calcium-dependent phospholipid binding proteins which are involved in membrane-related activity along exocytotic and endocytotic pathways. ANXA5 is a phospholipase A2 and protein kinase C inhibitory protein with calcium channel properties and takes part in cellular signal transduction, inflammation, growth and differentiation. ANXA5 is an anticoagulant protein that acts as an indirect inhibitor of the thromboplastin-specific complex, which is involved in the blood coagulation cascade. ANXA5 regulates coagulability in the blood stream by binding to phosphatidylserine and sulfatide. ANXA5 protects sinsuoidal endothelial cells from ischemia reperfusion damage.
