Charged multivesicular body protein 6 (CHMP6) is a member of the SNF7 family. The CHMP6 protein is a core component of the endosomal sorting necessary for transport complex III (ESCRT-III) that is involved in multivesicular bodies (MVBs) formation and sorting of endosomal cargo proteins into MVBs. MVBs contain intraluminal vesicles (ILVs) which are produced by invagination and scission from the limiting membrane of the endosome and generally are transported to lysosomes facilitating degradation of membrane proteins, such as stimulated growth factor receptors, lysosomal enzymes and lipids.

Proteasome 26S Subunit, Non-ATPase 5, also known as PSMD5 is a member of the proteasome subunit S5B/HSM3 family. The 26S proteasome is an enzymatic complex which degrades ubiquitinated proteins in eukaryotic cells. Furthermore, PSMD5 acts as a chaperones which is involved in the assembly of the 26s proteasome, particularly of the base subcomplex of the PA700/19S regulatory complex. PSMD5 is full of dileucine repeats, which have been involved in trafficking of various transmembrane proteins.

Recoverin is a member of the recoverin family of neuronal calcium sensors. Recoverin is a heterogeneously acylated calcium-binding and intracellular signal transduction 23kDa protein in the photoreceptor cells of retina. Recoverin contains four EF-hands, of which two bind Ca. Ca-induced extrusion of the acyl group from a hydrophobic cleft in the protein drives the translocation of recoverin from solution to the disc membrane. Recoverin may prolong the termination of the phototransduction cascade in the retina by blocking the phosphorylation of photo-activated rhodopsin. Recoverin plays a key role in the inhibition of rhodopsin kinase, a molecule that regulates the phosphorylation of rhodopsin. Synaptotagmin-4 (SYT4) is a part of the synaptotagmin proteins family. Synaptotagmins are a large gene family of synaptic vesicle type III integral membrane proteins that operate as regulators of both exocytosis and endocytosis and are involved in neurotransmitter secretion from small secretory vesicles. SYT4 is expressed in neuronal tissues, and has the highest mRNA levels in the hippocampus. Gastrokine-1 (GKN1) is a member of the gastrokine family. GKN1 has mitogenic activity and is involved in preserving the integrity of the gastric mucosal epithelium. Osteostat suppresses the early stage of osteoclastogenesis via inhibition of macrophage colony-stimulating factorinduced receptor activator of NF-kappaB (RANK) expression in the osteoclast precursor cells. Osteostat does not inhibit lipopolysaccharide-induced RANK expression in monocytes and dendritic cells, or activation-induced RANK expression in T cells. Osteostat is a novel regulator of osteoclast generation and substantiate the major role played by the endothelium in bone physiology.

Scavenger mRNA-decapping enzyme (DCPS) is a member of the HIT family. DCPS is required for the complete degradation of mRNAs, both in normal mRNA turnover and in nonsense-mediated mRNA decay. It was shown that DCPS hydrolyzes the residual m7GpppN cap structure after the complete 3'–5' degradation of the mRNA by the exosome. Furthermore, DCPS releases m7GMP and is incapable of cleaving cap structures attached to a long RNA chain.

The Proteinase K enzyme is a member of the Peptidase family S8. Proteinase K is a broad-spectrum serine protease. Proteinase K is capable of digesting hair (keratin), henceforth, the name "Proteinase K". Proteinase K is activated by calcium, the enzyme digests proteins especially after hydrophobic amino acids (aliphatic, aromatic and other hydrophobic amino acids). Proteinase K is frequently utilized in molecular biology to digest protein and remove contamination from preparations of nucleic acid. Addition of Proteinase K to nucleic acid preparations rapidly inactivates nucleases which may otherwise degrade the DNA or RNA during purification. Proteinase K is greatly fitting to this application as the enzyme is active in the presence of chemicals which denature proteins, such as SDS and urea, chelating agents such as EDTA, sulfhydryl reagents, as well as trypsin or chymotrypsin inhibitors.
