    • Introduction

Collagen triple helix repeat-containing protein 1 (CTHRC1) functions as a negative regulator of collagen matrix deposition. CTHRC1 is a secreted 28kDa protein which is glycosylated and highly conserved from lower chordates to mammals. CTHRC1 is highly connected with calcified tissues and cartilaginous matrix, but not with endothelial cells. CTHRC1 is detected qualitatively in plasma of healthy human subjects. CTHRC1 plasma levels are also significantly elevated during pregnancy, in diabetes, in inflammatory and infectious conditions, in subjects with acute myeloid leukemia but not in subjects with solid cancers. The hormonal functions of CTHRC1 include regulation of lipid storage and cellular glycogen levels with potentially far-reaching implications for cell metabolism and physiology. CTHRC1 gene deletion leads to fatty liver (steatosis) formation in mice while others exhibited inactivation of the CTHRC1 gene also results in low bone mass.

    • Synonyms

Collagen Triple Helix Repeat Containing 1, Protein NMTC1, CTHRC1.

    • Physical Appearance

      Filtered White lyophilized (freeze-dried) powder.

    • Introduction

Queuine TRNA-Ribosyltransferase Domain Containing 1, also known as QTRTD1 act together with QTRT1 to form an active queuine tRNA-ribosyltransferase. QTRTD1 exchanges queuine for the guanine at the wobble position of tRNAs along with GUN anticodons (tRNA-Asp,-Asn,-His and -Tyr), in that way forming the hypermodified nucleoside queuosine.

    • Introduction

Charged multivesicular body protein 1a (CHMP1A) is a member of the vacuolar sorting protein family and functions as chromatin-modifying protein. These complexes are essential for sorting endosomal articles into multivesicular bodies (MVBs), as well as vital for the formation of these bodies. The MVBs pathway mediates distribution of transmembrane proteins into the lumen of the lysosome for degradation. CHMP1 interacts with VPS4B and localizes to early endosomes.

    • Introduction

V-set and transmembrane domain containing 2 (VSTM2L) is a novel modulator of HN neuroprotective activity. VSTM2L colocalizes with HN in distinct brain areas as well as in primary cultured neurons, where it plays a part in the modulation of neuronal viability. When tested in HN neuroprotection bioassays, VSTM2L acts as a potent antagonist of HN neuroprotective activity. The VSTM2L protein is the first example of a secreted antagonist of HN and may have a role in the modulation of HN biological functions.

    • Introduction

Death effector domain-containing protein (DEDD) is a cytoplasmic protein. The cell death activity of DEDD relates to its nuclear localization. DEDD translocates to the nucleus during CD95-mediated apoptosis, there it localizes to nucleoli-like structures, activates caspase-6 and particularly inhibits RNA polymerase I-dependent transcription. DEDD is usually expressed in a variety of tissues, and found in the highest levels in the testis. Overexpression of DEDD was shown to induce weak apoptosis.

    • Introduction

STUB1, is a cytoplasmic protein whose amino acid sequence is highly preserved across species. STUB1 interacts with the molecular chaperones Hsc70-Hsp70 and Hsp90 through its TPR domain, whereas its U-box domain contains its E3 ubiquitin ligase activity. STUB1 interaction with these molecular chaperones lead to in client substrate ubiquitylation and degradation by the proteasome. therefore, STUB1 acts to tilt the folding-refolding mechanism towards the degradative pathway, and it serves as a link between the two. STUB1 inhibits anchorage-independent cell growth and metastatic potential by degrading oncogenic proteins including SRC-3. Inhibition of tyrosine kinase activity of Her-2/neu by quercetin specifies an lateration in the Her-2/neu structure which promotes STUB1 recruitments and down-regulation of Her-2/neu. STUB1 recognizes and mediates degradation of toxic, oligomeric forms of alphaSyn.

    • Introduction

Killer-cell immunoglobulin-like receptors (KIRs), are a family of cell surface glycoproteins found on Natural Killer (NK) Cells, which are important cells of the immune system. They control the killing function of these cells by interacting with MHC class I molecules, which are expressed on all cell types. This interaction allows them to identify virally infected cells or tumor cells that have a distinctive low level of Class I MHC on their surface. The majority of KIRs are inhibitory, which means that their recognition of MHC suppresses the cytotoxic activity of their NK cell. Only a limited number of KIRs have the capacity to activate cells.
The KIR genes are found in a cluster on chromosome 19q13.4 within the 1 Mb leukocyte receptor complex (LRC). KIR molecules are extremely polymorphic, meaning their gene sequences differ significantly between individuals, so that different individuals have different arrays/repertoires of KIR genes.
The KIR proteins are categorized by the number of extracellular immunoglobulin domains (2D or 3D) and by whether they have a long (L) or short (S) cytoplasmic domain. KIR proteins with the long cytoplasmic domain transduce inhibitory signals upon ligand binding via an immune tyrosine-based inhibitory motif (ITIM). Whereas KIR proteins with the short cytoplasmic domain lack the ITIM motif and instead associate with the TYRO protein tyrosine kinase binding protein to transduce activating signals.
KIR2DS4 is an activating Killer Cell Ig-like Receptor (KIR, previously called p50 KIR, p50.3, cl39, or KAR-K1), which may recognize class I MHC molecules. KIR2DS4 does not inhibit the activity of NK cells.

The herpesviruses share a characteristic ability to remain latentover long periods. CMV is a double-stranded linear DNA virus with 162 hexagonal protein capsomeres surrounded by a lipid membrane. CMV has the largest genome of the herpes viruses, ranging from 230-240 kilobase pairs. Human CMV is composed of unique and inverted repeats that include the existence of 4 genome isomers caused by inversion of L-S genome components (class E). Replication may be divided into immediate early, delayed early, and late gene expression based on time of synthesis after infection. The DNA is replicated by rolling circles. In vitro, CMV replicates in human fibroblasts.

    • Introduction

A human infecting coronavirus (viral pneumonia) called 2019 novel coronavirus, 2019-nCoV was found in the fish market at the city of Wuhan, Hubei province of China on December 2019.

The 2019-nCoV shares an 87% identity to the 2 bat-derived severe acute respiratory syndrome 2018 SARS-CoV-2 located in Zhoushan of eastern China. 2019-nCoV has an analogous receptor-BD-structure to that of 2018 SARS-CoV, even though there is a.a. diversity so thus the 2019-nCoV might bind to ACE2 receptor protein (angiotensin-converting enzyme 2) in humans.

While bats are possibly the host of 2019-nCoV, researchers suspect that animal from the ocean sold at the seafood market was an intermediate host. RSCU analysis proposes that the 2019-nCoV is a recombinant within the viral spike glycoprotein between the bat coronavirus and an unknown coronavirus.

    • Introduction

Cholinergic Receptor Nicotinic, Alpha 6 (CHRNA6) is a part of the nicotinic acetylcholine receptors (nAChRs) family. nAChRs are heteropentameric ligand-gated ion channels generating from the assembly of alpha and beta protein subunits. After binding acetylcholine, the AChRs respond by a major change in conformation which affects all subunits and leads to opening of an ion-conducting channel across the plasma membrane. CHRNA6 receptors have a rather selective localization to the nigrostriatal pathway.
