Synonyms
T-cell growth factor (TCGF), Interleukin-2, Lymphokine, IL-2.
Type
Mouse Anti Human Monoclonal.
Introduction
IL2 is a secreted cytokine that is important for the proliferation of T and B lymphocytes. The receptor of this cytokine is a heterotrimeric protein complex whose gamma chain is also shared by interleukin 4 (IL4) and interleukin 7 (IL7). The expression of this gene in mature thymocytes is monoallelic, which represents an unusual regulatory mode for controlling the precise expression of a single gene. The targeted disruption of a similar gene in mice leads to ulcerative colitis-like disease, which suggests an essential role of this gene in the immune response to antigenic stimuli.
Clone
YNRhIL2.
Immunogen
r.Human IL-2.
Ig Subclass
Mouse IgG2a.
Purification Method
Ion Exchange.
Formulation
1mg/ml in PBS (after reconstitution).
Shipping Conditions
Antibody is shipped lyophilized at ambient temperature.
Storage Procedures
In lyophilized form, for long periods, store at 4°C in a dry environment. After reconstitution, if not intended for use within a month, aliquot and store at -20°C.
Solubility
Reconstitute with sterile H20. Mix gently, wash the sides of the vial and wait 30-60 seconds before use.
Titer
By direct ELISA: 1:10,000 dilution will yield 0.4 O.D using alkaline phosphatase conjugated rabbit anti-mouse Ig (Jackson Laboratories). 1:50 dilution will block 70-80% of CTLL proliferative response to 50 units of r.human IL-2.
Applications
Direct ELISA, Western Blot, Immuneprecipitation, immunohistochemistry, blocking T cell poroliferation.
Cross reactivity
A certain degree of functional cross reactivity with murine IL-2 was reported by some investigators.
