Introduction
Chlamydia is a common term for infection with any bacterium belonging to the phylum Chlamydiae. This term derives from the name of the bacterial genus Chlamydiain the family Chlamydiaceae, order Chlamydiales, class and phylum Chlamydiae. There are two genera in Chlamydiaceae: Chlamydia and Chlamydophila. The genus Chlamydia includes three species: C. trachomatis, C. muridarum, and C. suis.
Description
The E.coli derived recombinant 6x His fusion at C-terminus protein contains Chlamydia Trachomatis MOMP protein epitopes, 252-354 amino acids, and a 6xHis Tag fused at C-terminus.
Purification Method
Chlamydia W5 protein was purified by proprietary chromatographic technique.
Purity
Protein is >90% pure as determined by SDS- PAGE.
Formulation
20mM Tris-HCl, pH 7.2, 1.5M urea and 50% glycerol.
Stability
Chlamydia W5 although stable at 4°C for 1 week, should be stored below -18°C.

Specificity
Immunoreactive with sera of Chlamydia Trachomatis infected individuals.
Applications
Chlamydia W5 is suitable for use in ELISA. Each laboratory should determine an optimum working titer for use in its particular application. Other applications have not been tested but use in such assays should not necessarily be excluded.
